In this video, I show you how I returned to Tokyo from Izumo City, which I reached by Sunrise Izumo. From Izumo City, I took the Ichibata Train, the express Yakumo, and the bullet train Nozomi. I also saw one of Japan’s oldest trains on display at Izumo Taisha-mae Station. In the bullet train Nozomi, I also enjoyed Sushi Bento.
One of the oldest trains in Japan, the Dehani Type 50 train of the Ichibata Electric Railway was manufactured in 1928 and is partially made of wood. It is currently on display at Izumo Taisha-mae Station on the Ichibata Electric Railway Taisha Line. It has also been used for filming movies.
The express Yakumo started service in 1972 and currently operates between Okayama and Izumoshi Stations. This train (Type 381) is currently the last Japan National Railways express train in Japan to operate on a regular basis.
