BACKPACKING PERU π΅πͺ EPISODE 5 π CUSCO
I’m still in Cusco! I absolutely love it here. I think it’s a really great city for digital nomads because not only are there loads of things to do in your time off, there is also a countless number of cool cafes and restaurants to get a bit of work done. In this vlog, I visited Avocado Toast & More, Jack’s Cafe, Republica Del Pisco, Limbus Restobar and did the free walking tour in the city.

FAQ’s
How do you afford to travel? – I now earn a full time living through creating these YouTube videos, affiliate links, selling digital products and my clothing line. I used to simply just work any temporary job I could find to save up to travel! I budget the money I earn meticulously to reach my savings goals using https://www.backpackingbananas.com/product-page/life-budget-tracker-uk-self-assessment-version
Is travelling solo safe? – I would argue the answer is almost always yes! As long as you use your common sense and you follow your own government’s guidelines about travelling in that country. I have made several videos on backpacking safety on my channel.
Do you have plans to settle down? Yes, I’m currently saving to purchase my first property in the UK and I’d love to have children one day. I doubt I’ll ever live a completely ‘conventional’ lifestyle by society’s standards though, as I often have my own preferred way of doing things.

what do you do, work wise? you a fed? A document mule for dead drops around the world?
I went to Peru, MP and Cusco in 2014 and loved it. Been anticipating this. I can't wait to go back.
Good luck love .. its great to see you enjoying yourself..
Everytime you recommend something I mark it on my map as a place to go! As if Iβll just happen upon them π
I watched another backpacking video with Cristianne. Thanks Love
Wifi in cafes are not good in Cusco. Itβs better to stay in an Airbnb.
That was a nice looking hostel. I can see why you stayed there. That beer did not sound like a good brew, btw. Looking forward to next video!
Your tour guide looked very unenthusiastic! haha π€£ Anyways… Cusco looked really cute and the architecture reminded me of Spain or Portugal. Excited to see what your next destination is! π
Great vlog wonderful Christie!!! π Cusco looks like a beautiful city!!!
Hi… I just wanna ask where you get the pink glasses from? Its sooo cute π₯° enjoy your travel
Cusco mems π₯°. The place that started off my travelling bug.
Oooh Jackβs cafe – the milkshake haven!
Would absolutely agree with pedicure post hiking too
Loved the San Blas area too; that little courtyard has a fab market on the evenings.
Man I need to go back to Cusco π΅πͺ
Are you getting much chance to practice Spanish? I noticed the tour guide was also replying in English π€¦πΌββοΈ
Would you also recommend Peru if you don't like to go hiking. I prefer scooters …π
Iβve spent years in Ecuador but still have never made it to Peru π I have to make it!
Really good to watch.ππ
Iβm going to Cusco in April and seeing you loving it there is making me so excited! Are you going to show any of your hikes around Cusco on YouTube?
I just love love you.Ery informative videos allthe time.
I really hope you have more Cusco videos to come , like with your hikes and stuff. Also I was wondering if there would be Pakistan vids? Sorry to moan but I just love your stuff I need mooooore π
You look really happy in Cusco.
Great vlog backpacking, loving the series, you have an amazing personality, great vibes, wishing you happiness and lucky on your on-going journey. π
Are you going to be away over Christmas? Itβs my first time solo travelling (im 19) and also my first time away from home at Christmas. I had planned to travel until march but i am considering going home for christmas, i wont be able to come back out again afterwards though. Do you have any tips or advice on being alone in a different country over Christmas, or what your plans are? Thank you your videos really inspired me β€β€
How was the altitude sickness? Did it affect you a lot? Did you take medication to help deal with it? I'm flying to Lima in March 2023 and the next day I'll be flying over to Cusco and I've read the altitude sickness can hit quite hard. Any tips is greatly appreciated!!! LOVE YOUR VIDS!!
This life is really so comfortable!π₯°
Seeing the cute alpacas reminded me that you ate one in the other video … yuck! lol!
Welcome to my country, don't forget to visit Mancora, Huaraz, Macchu Picchu also you can eat ceviche with Inka kola soda drink. Have fun!
I had the same issue as you with chapped lips in high altitude while in Cusco. I found that the coco leaf lip balm doesn't work as well as the generic burt's beeswax lip balm that we get in the USA or the UK. Although when I went back to upstate New York, the coco leaf lip balm was better than the burt's beeswax lip balm. Something about high altitude and bee's wax works better for some reason.

Hello Top Banana ! Nice video, thanks π Pleased to see your altitude issues are under control and you are no longer struggling. I have been watching your videos for years and been longing to ask two boring questions… and finally have decided to risk it! As someone who has been living out of a backpack constantly, since 2003 and therefore moving between countries/continents, outside the UK, almost all the time, i have encountered probems with online banking. My UK bank considers it as 'suspicious activity' when i try to connect from outside the UK, even when i tell them where i will be, in advance.. and i know i am far from being alone in this. Talking with other folk in similar situations, it seems to be an issue with whichever bank a person who is nomadic experiences. I tried using a couple of other vpns, in the past (not surfshark), to try to make it appear i was in the UK, but my bank only sensed this use of a vpn as being evidence of even more 'suspicious activity'… Sorry for the long preamble… So, my questions are : Do you find using a vpn hinders your attempts to do online banking when you switch it on and if so, have to found a way around it ? And… don't you find using a vpn noticeably dampens the strength of the wifi connectivity, impacting on upload speeds of your videos to youtube, for example ? If any other travelling people read this and have found a solution to online banking when abroad difficulties, please do share your wisdom, either here, or by contacting me, directly… i don't want to cause a 'log jam' on Backpacking Bananas comments section !!
Your videos are so insightful! Iβm researching for my first trip to South America and already got a ton of valuable information on your channel. As Iβm also going to be working while travelling Iβm interested so know even more about the infrastructure and digital nomad lifestyle in these countries. Thanks and bon voyage
Noticed the Kokopelli wristband, you didnβt like that one? It was my fave, still have the band
Ahhh I was supposed to spend a month in Cusco in 2020 but it was cancelled. It looks amazing and I'm so excited to go next year! Thanks for all the recommendations again x

One Q – did you catch a bus or fly between Arequipa and Cusco?
