We flew from Seoul, South Korea into the city of Osaka, then making our first stop the city of Kyoto. Japan has been closed for almost 3 years, so we were so excited to visit. For me personally, it’s been 5 years since I visited Kyoto, Japan, so I couldn’t be happier to finally return.

After landing at KIX (Kansai International Airport), we took the Haruka limtied express (decorated with Hello Kitty) to reach Kyoto Station. We took in some great view of Kyoto Tower illuminated at night before heading to the area of Higashiyama, where our Airbnb was. We then checked out the famous area of Gion, a beautiful traditional neighborhood known for the geisha that can be spotted occasionally.

We ate dinner at a restaurant in Gion named “Gion Tanto” where we had some delicious okonomiyaki and yakisoba. After exploring Gion, we visited the stunning ‘Yasaka Shrine”, a lovely shinto shrine that is enchanting at night. Watch along and see what our first day in Japan looked like!
