Itsukushima, also known as Miyajima, is most known for its beautiful floating torii gate, nature spots (Momijidani Park in the fall is absolutely gorgeous), and yes, aggressive deer.

It is a wonderful place to visit if you are in Hiroshima as it is only a short ferry ride away.

Nature lovers can soak up the breathtaking view of mountains and sea, while adventure lovers can stretch their legs on a hike up Mt. Misen. This hike is perfect to see some of the island’s best spots all in one day: Daisho-in Temple, Mt. Misen Observatory, and Momijidani Park.
