Very big and full day of travel. First we took the bullet train west to the very tragic and moving city of Hiroshima – site of wartime obliteration via A-Bomb. We took in the museum, left feeling spent, and headed for an okonomyaki lunch.
Then, with literally seconds to spare, we got a train to Himeji to go and visit the sensational 1600s castle there; site of many a Hollywood film.
Moving day and historically impressive day.
We ate:
Okonomyaki (Hiroshima style) at Okonomimura
Monaka stuffed with red beans and macha ice cream and Hirashaya
