TOBAGO – Welcome to the beautiful island of Tobago! Today we are beginning with a breadfruit roast on the beach with some amazing grilled fish and fish broth. Then we’re getting a full lesson on traditional dirt oven baking in Tobago. Next you can’t miss crab and dumplings when you’re in Tobago, and finally we’re finishing with a few street food favorites. Tobago is so beautiful, people are laid back, and the food culture is so tasty!

Big thank you to #visitTrinidad and Visit Tobago (https://www.visittobago.gov.tt/) for inviting me to Trinidad and Tobago and for making this trip happen! Guide to the things and food in this video:

Castara, Tobago – We’re beginning this food tour today on the beach with a fish and breadfruit roast. This is something I truly love, being connected with nature, cooking over fire, and seeing the entire process before eating. The breadfruits were some of the best I’ve ever had and the fish was marinated and grilled. The fish broth was also spectacular. What a way to begin.

Backyard Dirt Oven – Next up we met up with Ms Moore & Wendell for a backyard dirt oven experience. Dirt oven baking is something that’s traditional in Tobago and they are keeping the tradition alive. I especially loved the garlic bread and pumpkin bread with cheese.

Miss Trim’s Kitchen (https://goo.gl/maps/XspFWniJz9hVCojaA) – It there’s one dish that’s the most famous and a dish you can’t leave Tobago without eating, it’s crab and dumplings. The crab is curried and the dumplings are hearty and doughy. The combination is delicious!

Block 22 – Finally to complete this Tobago food tour we tried the fried chicken sandwich wat Block 22 – one of the late night staples.

  2. Thanks Mark, you are sharing the beauty of various cultures, food, tradition, people and method of cooking. The world is a beautiful place. That's why we enjoy so much of foods of various cultures. The world will be boring if everybody is just the same color, religion, culture and etc.

  10. I am sitting here, in a sad London flat, dreaming about my travelling. I need another 2 years of my mental health nursing job to be able to travel as I want it. I wipe bums, I sweep vomit, I talk to people, I empower them. It is all for my dream of taking my husband to eat in different places, but he doesn't know about it yet. LOL.
I cook for pleasing people. I travel to eat. Yes, Mark ! I love you and your family!
