In my June 2022 trip, I went to Nipponbashi in Osaka to check out all the different model train shops. The selection was great, many sets to choose from. Most shops sell only N gauge models, but quite a few also have HO scale and I saw one with big O scale sets!
There aren’t as many shops as in Akihabara, but they are huge!
This is part 5 of a video series on Japanese Model Train Shops.
You can find Part 1 to 4 here:
Akihabara Part 1: https://youtu.be/uTUW53rIS7I

2:29 Volks
4:46 HobbyLand Pochi
5:36 Super Kids Land
I apologize if most of the time the videos are a bit shaky, the problem is that in many shops they don’t like you to shot videos, so you must be sneaky 😉
If you know any other model train shops in Osaka, please leave a comment down below.

i might check some of these out in may 2023!
Maybe 20 mins away in Kobe, there is Rail Gallery Roko. Great little independant family shop and I aftern ask about items sold-out elsewhere upon release, and they have them. Also good for parts.
