  1. JR is technically six different railways, but they work together for the JR Rail Pass, to make it seemless between the groups. Trains do stop at 12-12:30 am, so if you are out after that, you'll need to catch a taxi if you are not near your hotel.

  2. Good to hear about your fantastic trip here in Japan . I enjoyed watching your videos and I sure following your channel . Next visit I highly recommended Gifu Prefecture. Takayama is famous for Sake . Hida ramen and Hida beef I. enjoyed it yesterday. It was truly amazing. Great video as always . Thanks .

  3. Great video, and great videos on Japan. I wanna travel there so bad hopefully in March 2023. How did you manage with money in Japan? Did you just exchange money at the airport?

  4. Great solid tips, just a few critiques though in regards to pronunciation.

Shinkansen = Sheen-Kahn-Sen ("ee" is very subtle)
Omakase = Oh-mah-Kah-Say ("Say" leaning more towards "eh" and not an exaggerated "AAYE")
Nigiri = Knee-Gi-Ree (Like Karate Gi, not like "oh geez!")

I tried to ignore it but you said these so much that I couldn't help myself ๐Ÿ˜‚
Other than that, this is really good advice for newcomers. Sent it to my mom before she joins me in Japan, so thanks!

  5. Ok, after the fourth "nijiri" I just had to say something. It's Nigiri with a hard G. ใซใŽใ‚Š. ใซ=ni ใŽ= gi ใ‚Š=ri. Hard G like in "gun" or "go". (Ghee)
    Ok rant over.

  6. Thanks for your video. I've just arrived home yesterday after 17 days, and seeing your video just made me want to go back even more ๐Ÿ˜ Visiting a sake brewery could also be on the list, especially if you're outside Tokyo. We did so in Kobe, where also had an amazing Teppanyaki dining experience with differing kind of meat to taste the difference between Japanese, Wagyu and Kobe beef.

  9. Wow I heard about getting the JR PASS many times as we will buy it for next years but never heard 200 cheaper prior to getting there!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
    Nice info thanks!!!$$$
I like how u explained to people about the chefs follow what the sushi masters say itโ€™s very true!!! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

  10. I've enjoyed your Japan travel and food vids, but I have one suggestion: Please study up on pronunciation of Japanese words for your net trip. The main one that jumped out right away on this video is "Shinkansen," because you focus on the JR Pass (a must!) and say the word about 20 times. You say "Shin-CAN-sen" and it's "Shin-kahn-sen." I fear that mispronouncing words reflects a western arrogance and lack of respect towards Japanese culture, and I know you don't mean to disrespect. Also some other common gaffs: "Omakase" is "kah-zeh," not "ka-see" and ""Nigiri" isn't "Ni-GEAR-ee," it's "Ni-gi-rri" (with the slightly trilled "r" sorta like in Spanish). I'll add "Shinkansen" to my blog post about pronunciation: https://nikkeiview.com/2021/07/29/updated-a-pronunciation-guide-to-japanese-words-including-panko-udon-sake-and-more/ Thanks for your travel videos, and also thanks for saying "sake" correctly!

    For example, flour culture.

  12. Great summing up of your visit to Japan. Think you need plenty of dollars to experience these delights.
