Daigoji Temple is located in Fushimi Ward in the southern part of Kyoto City, about 25 minutes by train from Kyoto Station. Since 8th century, Daigoji Temple has been known as the “Flowers in Daigo” and is famous for its beautiful cherry blossoms. In addition to that, Toyotomi Hideyoshi was planed to visit Daigoji Temple for beautiful autumn leaves. So, it is also famous for autumn leaves. Please enjoy the autumn leaves of Daigoji Temple at their best.
[Memorandum for Photographers]
The autumn leaves in Benten Pond seemed to have just the right slanting rays just after the gate opened at 9:00. There are couple of photo spot near the pond, but if you have time, I think you can find various pictures by circling the pond. However, crossing the bridge requires a bit of courage (many cameras are pointed at it, so it is better to cross quickly). On the other hand, the autumn leaves near the five-story pagoda were in the shade in the morning. I thought the time near noon would be better for the light rays.
醍醐寺は京都市南部の伏見区に位置し、京都駅から電車で２５分ほどです。醍醐寺は平安時代から「花の醍醐」と呼ばれ桜の名所として知られていますが、実は豊臣秀吉はこの寺院で紅葉狩りも予定してといわれるほど紅葉の美しいところでもあります。

【撮影メモ】
弁天池の紅葉は、９時の開門直後の時間帯の光線がちょうどよい斜光のように感じました。弁天堂を正面に臨むあたりに撮影スポットがありますが、時間があるようなら池を一周まわると様々な絵に出会えるのでないかと思います。ただし、橋を渡るのは少し勇気が必要です（多くのカメラが向いていますので、ササっと渡るのがよいかと思います）。一方、五重塔周辺の紅葉は朝一番は光が回っていませんでした。こちらはお昼近い時間の方が光線の具合がよいと思いました。
