  1. The blue signs in the seats that sat in are reserved for senior citizens or mothers. Also you should by IC cards called either Pasmo or Suica, which will make it so much easier to get around Tokyo let alone all the country. These cards will allow you ride JR, subway, privates and buses and even better, it will save you move over paper tickets (at least 3 yen minimum). Cards cannot be used for bullet train. The Japan rail pass is different than this card, but if traveling on it to Kyoto and back you will save money on the long distance travel.

  2. With the crane games if you spend a ton of time on the machine without winning, you can ask for help, which may get you closer to winning.

  3. When you leave the restaurant. it’s better to say “gochisousama” than “arigatou”

  4. You should buy PASMO or Suica definitely to hang out around Tokyo
