Hokkaido has been one of the birth places of domestic wine. Furano produced local wine since 1979. Located on a hill overlooking the town, the Furano Winery is open to the public and you can enjoy free wine tasting. Nearby there is a restraint named “Winehouse” where you can try the wines in combination with Western dishes.
Near the winery stands also the Grape Juice Factory, where visitors can observe the production process from behind a window and try the taste of grape juice which is not added sweeteners. A small lavender field is also located on the hill.

Access Information
It takes about a tem minute by car or taxi to get above two facilities from JR Furano station.
A loop line bus which Furano Station with some of the town’s sights three times per day for tourist serve the winery during summer. The fare is 1000 yen for two days of unlimited use.
The winery also gets visited by the Twinkle Bus Biei “Lavender Course” sightseeing bus, which runs from Furano via Biei to Asahikawa (4.5 hours, 1000 yen). Reservations for the Twinkle Bus are required and can be made at each JR railway stations across Hokkaido.
