It takes about 3.5 hours from Kinosaki onsen to Osaka, but you will enjoy the view with/without a monitor. You can book this room for 3,800JPY plus 1,000 JPY extra charge on the regular seat.

Should you ever come to visit the United States, West Coast… in California there is a very lovely hot spring resort called Harbin that I would recommend you go to. Very beautiful views of the mountains and night sky. The resort is clothing optional.

Now as for your question about favorite onsen, I'd have to say it was the outside one I visited on a road trip with friends between Kumamoto and Kagoshima. So I take it the nice little suite in the bus you have to share the community bathroom though they don't get your own bathroom on there I'm sure?
Do those kind of buses have the bathrooms like in the states on the we call them the cross country buses?

The only structured hot spring I’ve been to was in Montana, it was more like a warm swimming pool. You have to wear swim suits and there’s always lots of hair in it 😬
In New Mexico there’s a hot spring on the side of a river that is really nice. Being in nature while in a hot spring is great, and it’s free! I just wish there weren’t coyotes and scorpions around lol.

In Canada we have hot springs and mineral waters that one can go into. The private room is nice but I would sit in the other seats so I can see more of the scenery.

Favourite onsen area so far: Oboke (central Shikoku area)
Hard to get to, so rental car is recommended. The area is beautiful with valleys and cliffs and rivers. It has a cool museum about "yokai", and it has some of the most awesome onsen I have visited so far.

I love a good bus ride, especially if there's beautiful scenery along the way. How much far in advance do you have to make your reservations to these different places before you travel there and have you already started thinking about where to travel in 2023?

The private seat looks like the best way to travel on the bus. I haven't been to an onsen, but from all of the videos that I have watched, I would love to go to the Ginzan onsen. The village looks so beautiful.
The private room on a bus would so be something I would book due to my social anxiety. Would definitely make travel more comfortable.
