Maybe the lights are simpler on the roads, to stop cars piling up and they put the more elaborate lights up, where there is foot traffic only?

Why do you say rubbish and you don't like the angel lights? I thought it was pretty and enjoyed the holiday atmosphere. This will probably be the closest I get to see Christmas lights.
