Japan’s tourism has restarted but there are teething problems and with Japan expecting an 8th wave, what could all this mean for potential tourists and those who are going to visit shortly? Well, thats exactly what we will look at.

Travelling to Japan is finally open and easy (in many ways) but hotels and the transport sector are having a hard time hiring. Not only that but cruise ships are finally restarting but with many terms and conditions.

  1. going this coming Thursday 11/23 – visiting Naha (Okinawa), Hiroshima, Kyoto, Tokyo 🙂 so far I think 'all my ducks are in a row'

  2. Yes l was there from October until November. I head back in April hopefully. It’s pointless it’s just something they like the rest of the world have to deal with. Covid is here to stay so Japan need to get used to it.

  3. I had been a fan of cruising (in general) at least before COVID. I'm not sure I see the allure of cruising in Japan, Yokohama and Kobe (the most common stops on Japan itineraries) are easily accessed via train.

  4. Going to Tokyo-Yokohama-Hakone-Gifu-kyoto in Jan 23. Finger crossed everything went well

  5. ⛩thanks man! Hopefully my plans to visit Japan won’t be cancelled in December . I just bought my JrPass yesterday after watching your video. Have a great day

  6. ⛩ Well interesting. I sort of get a kick out how each country's bureaucracy are lobbying for the same powers and controls that didn't have much effect the first seven waves, but will surely work this time. The only effect these policies had was that economies were wrecked everywhere, and lack of staff is hampering the recovery. If Japan wants masks and vaccinations, I'll wear a mask and get vaccinated, cause you must comply so they don't restrict entry again. I'm still trying to put my trip to Japan together cause I want more than just a holiday. Nathan your updates and content continue to inform, inspire and entertain. What more could I want.

  7. Hello Nathan 😊 I have been watching all your videos and updates, thank you very helpful, I’m buying my tickets this week 🤞🏼🤞🏼 any tip please??? Airline, times etc , Thank you!!!

  8. Thanks for this new update Nathan ⛩. I do not think Cruise operators will be in a hurry to call at Japan ports with those guidelines unless they only accept vaccinated passengers…

  9. Feb 5th Flight from Austin to LAX to Haneda, coming back April 25th. Unvaccinated so I will spend the 200$ for an official test but its a small price to get the chance to make it back to Japan for an almost 3 month long trip.

Ah I am headed north to Akita and Aomori Prefectures for a few snow festivals, after about the 17th of February no plans yet but I'd like to visit less traveled areas if possible. Definitely making it to Hiroshima and Fukuoka.

  10. I got a 4th jab (the Moderna Bivalent) and going to Japan on 27th December. Looking forward!! Going to Osaka, Sapporo and lastly Tokyo. ⛩

  11. We are looking to go in June 2023. I wonder if it's a good idea to book now or wait until the date gets closer.

  12. 18th Nov was my birthday 😊 lol , informative as usual, You look like a football player in your Japan strip! Arigato Nathan ❤️😁 ⛩️

  13. I was one of those who visited asap after the borders opened 😹 was there for two weeks and could already see many tourists around, although nowhere near pre pandemic levels.

  14. ⛩I have never been on a cruise and really have not felt an urge to get on one. I wonder if there has been/is any Gundam theme cruises.

  15. Yes I'm in Japan right now! But there are very few foreign tourists. The hotels and trains are filled mostly with Japanese domestic tourists.

  16. Going next Monday for 6 weeks! Well, if my pcr is negative- ridiculous to discriminate against the unvaccinated and cause unnecessary hassle and stress before what should be the trip of a lifetime.

  17. I'm in Osaka right now. It's very busy, but mostly with Japanese people. I did see a lot of foreigners in Dotonbori.

  18. ⛩️ Hopefully no sudden closures, though I think Japan will just ride out any new waves it has! p.s. I want that shirt, ordering mine now, keep forgetting to buy it haha!

  19. There’s no need to make that surprised face to make us watch your videos. Too much fake drama in your titles and thumbnails. 🙈

  20. I was thinking of going there early in 2023, but all the people wearing masks is so off putting. They are slaves to the hysteria from the media and big pharma. I'll wait until sanity returns.

  21. Bought my tickets for 2 weeks to Akihabara, in February!!!!🥳

Also thanks for all the info good sir.

  22. ⛩️ I'm definitely looking forward to my trip in March. Hopefully the weather isn't too bad in Okinawa at that point, it'll be about 20 degrees and usually tends be warm and pleasant ⛩️

  23. Thanks Nathan. I'm in Japan now, arrived Nov 14. I don't think that Japan will slam the borders shut, to be honest. Tourism is probably picking up but not anywhere close to pre-pandemic levels, most likely.
