Gotta love that meme thumbnail ππ
Having mixed feelings about Ichiran since it's my favorite lol. but yeah I get your point. I eat there maybe twice whenever I visit Japan. Not really a ramen type of guy.
I've always wanted to go up tokyo skytree but hesitate whenever I see the price.
Agree with shimokitazawa, lovely vibe.
I have a flight to Japan later, and I can't wait to return for the 5th time. Bringing my wife with me for the first time.
Inchiran Ramen reminds me of the cubicles where I had to take tests in High School, great for antisocial people thought so great place for them. I was wondering are there any good places for performances or cool shows not music might make a good video, glad to see the life returning.
Thanks for the info
As overrated as akihabara is
I feel like i must visit it lol but I'll just go to the Gigo building and then immediately leave haha
Greetings from Jeju island π°π·π
Careful now about Ichiran ramen, you might lose subscribers… I eat at Ichiran everyday whenever I am in Tokyo and never gotten tired of it. This is the only ramen I can eat daily, as other ramen I cannot eat everyday as I can get tired eating it daily… and btw, I have been to Japan already for more than 20 times already since 1994 before the pandemic.. I am a ramen eater and have eaten a lot in Ippudo as Ichiran is not in our country yet till now…I'll go straight to the point, Ichiran is not overrated for many of us… how can this ramen chain become the biggest in Japan, serving only one kind of ramen with no other choices per shop? It is either the regular Ichiran or the halal beef Ichiran, and so far there is no shop I visited that offers both at the same time. And despite having so many branches serving only one kind of ramen, each still has a line most of the time??
This is an excellent video. I m here a few mths out of a year and I feel similar about what you mentioned.
TMGB offers a pretty nice view. Free of charge n queues,,they also have a gift shop. Shimokitazawa is interesting to check out . But it's mostly selling old stuff.
If there, do try the Taiwan Kitchen n Pizza place. TK offers crispy fried chicken and pork with rice at very reasonable price. Pizza is very good too, esp the crust. But not as cheap.
Ramen…
Many good shops around but mediocre ones aplenty too. Unless one has the time, totally understand why they would just stick with the tested ones.
Nakano… If there, go to the basement for the multi-tiered/flavour ice cream. But eat at the stall.
Showa kinen is a beautiful park tho farther away. But combine that with a stop at nearby Tachikawa Station for shopping and food. One gets to experience the local vibe awway from the city.
Tokyo has tons to offer off the usual tourist track.
Disrespect your surroundings
Thanks for thinking outside the box awesome video!!! Roll Tide!!!
Great video! Any chance we could get a Kyoto version of this? π
Hey Man i just back this week end to Japan and it was Amazing as Tourist .,.. lool but i would like to met you but u been very busy and me too , so anyway i just said Thank you for your tips about get in back as before my friend .
I donβt think Ichiran is overrated just becos it is like cubicle seating. Itβs broth is already worth the trip. Simple ramen nothing fancy but the broth alone can make u finish the whole bowl. Furthermore Ichiran doesnβt have any chains overseas u can only eat in Japan which is a more must-eat thing in Japan π
Whenever a YouTuber or other content creator says ICHIRAN is the best ramen ever… my eyes roll back into my brain. Even watched a fool ask for a fork in there.
BTW, I'm in Japan right now. And of course saw lines of tourists at ICHIRAN π
Mr. Highway's Thinking About the End! π
I agree with most of the stuffs you talked about. As for the imperial palace, you can actually go on a guided tour of the imperial palace for free though. Look for "The Imperial Palace Guided Tour".
For the most part I agree with your video. BUT, dissuading people from going to Ichiran? This is crazy. And recommending Nakano (which is a decent place to visit) over Akihabara is absolute crazy town.
Also, if you're a runner, doing the Strava Imperial Palace loop is essential. Aswell as the obligatory Japan parkruns. π
Subscribed! Love the sound quality youβve got it so crisp!π
Known many of the alternatives before, but get some new destinations for next time.
View of the government building was great at my last visit pre-pandemic and always visit Nakano Broadway.
There is a manga school from an acquaintance nearby and we meet at a restaurant there for smalltalk every time visiting.
Nakano Broadway was cool, there's grocery shops in the basement so you can pick up some cheap fruits , just don't sit on the benches near the grocery shops if you're not a senior citizen because shop owners will yell at you. Even if you have a 5 year old kid with you. (Was pretty BS)
A good tip, check out Google reviews, find places/restaurants with only Japanese reviews and no English ones and try it out if the reviews are good.
We did that and we had a lot of good meals.
Thanks a lot for the tips! I've been following your videos lately and now I have a good idea of what to do in post-pandemic Tokyo! Will be visiting in December so I would appreciate it if you tell us more about things to do in winter and New year's!!
I really enjoy your content and I've found a lot of new things to do on my next trip thanks to your channel! I 100% agree the imperial Palace is really boring π π I have a question, do you need to pre-book shibuya sky or can you get tickets on the day? thank youuuu, looking forward to more videos!
