Tokyo station is a large, impressive brick building located in Tokyo’s Maranouchi business district, just east of the Imperial Palace. The station was originally built in 1914 and its design is said to be inspired by Amsterdam’s Central Station in The Netherlands. Tokyo station underwent a major renovation in 2012, and in addition to being one of the busiest stations in Japan, is also home to extensive underground shopping and dining options, making it a great place to go to enjoy a great meal and finding the perfect Tokyo souvenir.
