Take a look around Hakodate Morning Market in Japan – including Donburi Alley, fresh Hokkaido seafood and expensive fruit! Then step outside into -11°C and a snowy blizzard!
Hakodate fish market is right by the station. There are around 250 stalls selling fresh seafood, donburi fish rice bowls, all sorts of Japanese food you might not recognise and expensive fruit! There are also lots of restaurants and places to eat authentic Japanese food. I tried a yubari melon and sweetcorn, and Phil had a salmon, tuna and scallop rice bowl. Hakodate’s also famous for crabs, and there are lots of them around the market stalls.
