City Description:

Peak periods include Mar–May and Aug–Dec. Summers are hot and humid and winters are mild, with a rainy season Jun–Sep. The Hakata Dontaku Festival (May) features a costumed parade with traditional music and dance. The Hakata Gion Yamakasa Festival (Jul) sees men racing through the streets carrying giant floats.
