  1. Funny as hell, in a very sad way, what a bunch of patsies we are up here in the former US. Our border is open AF, to anyone, including felons, cartel members, wholesale drug, I mean pharmaceutical salespeople, and LOTS of predators (according to our local court dockets and police reports). We deserve the end of this civilization. Sorry to the youngest generation for not giving AF about upholding laws. Not much I could do aside from voting, and that didn't seem to work. Look at the losers we have running the show.

  2. So, it is not wealthy Americans looking to move to Mexico. It is middle class retirees looking for a more reasonable place to live. Remember, there are a lot of Mexicans working in the USA and sending money back to Mexico. So before you criticize Americans moving to Mexico, get your facts straight. Living in the USA is expensive. Moving to Mexico makes retirement more affordable. If Mexico doesn’t like it, well there are other countries in which to retire and contribute to the economy.

  3. The US, Canada and the West in general are being depopulated due to high cost of living. The trends will be extremely detrimental to these countries economies who also are experiencing low birth rate. This puts strains on labor supply and demand and pushes wages up. The elite in these countries and businesses do not want to pay adequately especially with rising prices as that impacts their profits, thus forcing people to relocate abroad. It seems these Western countries are imposing these policies on Mexico and others to limit the damage to themselves. Soon, all countries will raise their requirements or face sanctions and trade barriers. It is all done discretely ….. This is my thought on the topic.

  4. Thank you for the updated information. I used to live and work in Mexico in the 1990's and I am fluent in the language and culture. One thing you have to keep in mind with these changes is the fact that ALL of this could change at the end of the Sexenio of Lopez Obrador. I saw it first hand with the changes in Sexenios while living in Mexico as the new President wants to put his imprint on the country and undo what his predecessor did. After the loss of tourism and more importantly the loss of revenue for Hacienda – their IRS – I would almost bet that this will change when the next president comes to power. So hang in there, only two more years left of this Far-left blowhard president!

  5. They no longer want the broke asses backpacking from California and making the place more difficult for the local population. Just like any country, they want their new residents to be comfortable financially, enough so to invest locally and even open businesses/create jobs.

I'd say the changes are justified, and i think they'll even open a citizenship by investment program or something very similar to attract wealthy people into the country just like their caribbean neighbors did.

  6. Maybe the no borders concept will be adopted in the near future. Like when the Mighty USA collapses. Maybe 2024?
Mexico was around long before USA and will continue long after the USA collapse.

  7. 8 months ago, when you put the video, they give a temporary resident to every body cause to the covid , just pass 1 day after the 180 days… it’s cost approximately 13,000$ pesos good for 4 years and you can have the permanent after.
It’s not thrue you need no prouve to have the card…

  8. I wonder how many billions of dollar Mexico will lose with these policies.. I flew in to Cancun for a few weeks, want to go somewhere else in Mexico and stay much longer, but I already told the immigration official I was staying for a few weeks, I don't want a fine or worse, I will leave soon instead and go somewhere else..

  9. Mexico should be encouraging immigration and residency from the US. The US is slowly becoming a third world socialist nation, and the Americans with money want to move to Mexico to get out of the crazy political climate in the US. This can only be good for Mexico. The more influx of US money into Mexico, the less poor Mexicans will be influenced by the criminal cartels.

  10. I wouldn’t risk deportation, as you may well be banned from ever returning. I arrived in May this year with a 180 days. I currently in my way to Guatemala for a week, then I intend to return hopefully for another 180 days. If it’s 90 days, so be it.

  11. This is very sad. Also I was just reading you have to show your bank statements for 3 months. I guess I will be going to El Salvador, Honduras, Guatamala or Colombia instead.

  12. I had a similar but different experience when I arrived in Manila. I was asked where I was going to stay and the name of my hotel reservation ? I simply told the Customs lady that it was 4:15 am in the morning and I didn't have a reservation nor a hotel that I was going to stay at. She told me that most people arrive with a hotel reservation and that I might not be allowed to enter without them knowing where I was going to stay or for how long. I simply responded to her that I was not made aware but if its a problem, I can book a flight back to Vietnam and leave. She went to talk with her supervisor and came back and stamped my passport with an entry to the Philipines. If you arrive with the intention of spending money, its not going to benefit any country if you leave soon after you arrive. The rules get bent if its beneficial to the country you're going to.
