What it’s like taking the train from Hakodate to Sapporo in Hokkaido, Japan, on the Super Hokuto Limited Express. Plus: ramen (& vegetarian ramen!) in Sapporo at Sapporo Ramen Kumakichi.

** Bullet train from Tokyo to Hakodate (the first part of the trip!)
** How to take the shinkansen:

Hakodate is at the end of the bullet train (shinkansen) line in Hokkaido. It’s 4 hours from Tokyo to Hakodate, then another 4 hours from to Sapporo, where we’re going for the snow festival! See what it’s like on an intercity express train in Japan, with snacks from the convenience store, snowy landscapes in February and then ramen in Sapporo’s Ramen Alley, where you can get vegetarian/vegan vegetable ramen as well as pork.
