After an amazing few days in #Tokyo, it was time to head out for #Kyoto. #Japan’s #Shinkansen is one of the fastest trains in the world, with top speeds of 320 km/hr, and the route from #Tokyo to #Kyoto is one of the fastest in #Japan. For years I’ve wanted to ride the #Shinkansen, and it did not disappoint!

  1. Bus system is very confusing. Basicly you go inside in the backdoor and than you can take a ticket there outside a machine (a little paper thing) that shows where you get in and than you can pay in front at the driver after in the exact amount cash. If you have the Suica or Passmo IC card you can go in in the back and check in with your card at the IC Card terminal and afterwards instead of putting cash in the box beside the driver you use your suica again but i think its not possible in every bus around japan. Its very difficult hahaha. At 11:14 you can see how she is using her IC Card to pay but dont forget to check in after boarding on the ic card terminal on the back door

  2. Pasmo works in tons of cities, but some city buses have front entrance vs rear entrance. So that also makes it confusing. I find it funny watching people buy individual tickets nowadays because the Pasmo just makes it so easy compared to the old days.

  3. You cannot get on all bullet trains with the rail pass. Nozomi is not covered and Mizuho is not either. Otherwise you have the other bullet trains which are have at least a couple an hour. If going west past Okayama you will need to transfer to a different bullet train to go further west. Reserved seats do not cost anything with the rail pass.

  4. I definitely feel overwhelmed by Japanโ€™s transit system from your video. I will be there for the first time next week ๐Ÿ˜’

  5. โœจTip. When saying thankyou. Say the longer version "Arigato Gozaimasu". To make people feel 'oh! respect!'.
Further, When in Kyoto and Osaka, say the local dialect thank you "okini". To put a smile on people's face.

'Arigato Gozaimasu' is the more polite way to say thank you to strangers.
The short form "Arigato" is no problem but casual, more suitable for friends. People of course understand it's natural for travelers to say only Arigato instead of Arigato Gozaimasu. So no one would really mind that.
But it is slightly rude. In extreme cases, people can find it rude to hear Arigato from a stranger, like "am I close to you?", "you don't respect me?"
But again, it's not a big deal. Saying the long thank you Arigato Gozaimasu to a staff or waiter subtly means you have more respect to them. So it is a great thing for anyone to do. It's a very easy thing after all.

  6. If you ever been in Osaka. Osaka is known for comedy, or Manzai. The stand-up comedy culture in Osaka is big. Also the whole population of Osaka is known for embracing comedy and good pranks. It's to the point that if you joke with anyone on the street of Osaka, most people will probably go alone with your joke and even extend it.
So, you can try having fun with Osaka people with little jokes or pranks. It will surely break ice fast.

One of the classic Osaka style comedy is ใƒขใƒŽใƒœใ‚ฑmonoboke, which you act as totally misunderstand and using a thing in the wrong way. And let other people correct you.
For example when people hand you a banana and you act like it is a phone and start talking with it. That's monoboke. And then it's other people's duty to be surprise and correct you. in a comedy way. The beauty of Osaka people, is that when you took the banana as a phone and then hand it over to another person saying "it's for you", they might go alone with you and pick it up as a phone, too. They will speak to it for a second and then say "ayyyy! it's a banana!"

  7. Very nice videoโ€ฆ.what was the name of song when you were riding on train and is it difficult to find the right train if most of writing is in Japanese?

  8. On a JR pass, seat reservations are free, but must be made before the scheduled departure at a ticket office or window. If using the Shinkansen at a busy time, I highly recommend making a reservation.

  11. I watched your train travel with a mixture of excitement, trepidation, fear, wonder and joy. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿค™โœŒ๏ธ

  12. Fast fast and fast it will go
It will becomes automated as new ramen
And will become new explosion to see
    And man will be found
    Dark with machines
