The A380 is not for every airline. If there is no market to fill seats on the A380 profitably, then why invest on a big airplane that costs quite a sum of money to maintain and operate? Garuda made the right choice when it decided to use only 3 types of aircrafts – 777, A330, 737 in its fleet. Twin engines that save fuel and operational costs plus quick turn around time of aircraft. Airlines will buy planes that suit their market, size doesn't matter if its not making money. Terimah kasi 🙂
Example – Thai Airways ordered the A380 but is struggling to put it to better use other than BKK-HKG. They intended to use it on the Kangaroo route via BKK but now they are behind QF, MH, SQ and Middle Eastern carriers. and struggle to find a profitably route to deploy their A380. GA doesn't need the A380, they even reduced the flights to AMS via DUB because of economic situation in EU and increased intra-Asia – Japan flights instead.
Tried explaining that it is impossible for her. Solution? They will carry her. What year is this – 1900?? Where is the safety in that?? Pushed for a better solution, to which the reply: "It's up to you. She walk or we carry her." I berated his attitude, to which he replied that it was because I was also pushing, and did this while waving his index finger on my face. This in Indonesian culture, is extremely rude. Pilot, stewardesses were there, didn't do or say anything. Really show "quality."
Flew wth GA 835 frm Singapore – Jakarta on eve of January 24, 2013 with my disabled mother with wheelchair requested. At disembarkation, we were told to wait for a wheelchair. When I looked toward the exit, there was no ramp, only stairs to reach the ground. Inquired an air stewardess, who said "Oh, I don't know," and referred me to her senior, Rustam. I further inquired of how my mother will have access to the wheelchair on the ground. He just plainly told me that mother would have to walk.

@dhani454 that's because there's a sudden delay….
WELL THIS MEANS THEIR ARE NOT USING THE 747-400 ANYMORE ? : (
Most airlines have already phased out their 744 & replaced them with 773ER.
yeahh its a delay! check your facts man!
yeah. I thought so. 747 that GA used was too old. I hope they will use the A380 in the future.
Great! I like my experience with Garuda Indonesia. Hope my next flight will be with you guys!
+ bombardier for domestic market…
A380 will cost more if its not effective
why u make argument like that? u work in garuda? i think they know better about efficiency and what plans to make better than all of us
