After a long day of traveling across Japan from Kusatsu to Naganohara, Maebashi, changing trains in Omiya and finally arriving in Fukushima, my journey was finished, or so I thought. But how do I get out of this train station?? You can watch the full video about my bullet train experience here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyvDb4ljrLg

  1. I'm all lost in the supermarket I can no longer shop happily I came here for a special offer a guaranteed personality

  2. I thought lost on the red line in Boston was bad, you cannot read Japanese and your wondering around in Japan without an escort, you might get arrested for being a menace to your self.

  3. It is frustrating to get randomly dumped into a department store. Capitalism at work I suppose. In general you will find groceries, delis, cafes and other packaged food options in the basement of Japanese department stores. You will find a collection of generally good quality, reasonably priced restaurants on the top floor(s).

  4. Your best bet might have been to become a mannequin :/
Haha, then you found the escape but got sucked in again! lol

  5. My Japanese is relatively limited and I couldn't really see any sign with an exit sign on it, but it might be handy to know since I'm sure plenty of places will have these.
出口 -> deguchi -> means exit
入口 -> iriguchi -> means entrance

I'm sure just mentioning "deguchi" might help in situations like this.

That said, I am really bad at finding the exit in buildings as well. I am sure I would have been in the same boat.
Although I would have been able to ask "Deguchi wa dodesuka?" (Where is the exit).

Also, you are lucky as an American that the Japanese use the same way to indictate groundfloors as in the US. in Europe (or at least in Belgium where I'm from) the groundfloor is 0F and 1F is one story up. -1 or 91 is typically 1 story underground over here. It usually trips me up even though I am aware this is different in a lot of countries.

    Edit:
Just saw this in one of the other comments and obviously it should be Deguchi wa doko desuka? instead of do desuka (which means how is it instead of where is it). Like I said, my Japanese is relatively limited. But I am sure they would have at least understood what I was trying to ask.

  6. Oh no !!! Trapped… you did pass a few green arrows & one or two green person signs. Personally I would have gone down one of those. ☘✌.

  7. On the floor on the second floor, literally in front on the escalator it says 2F, go back and look on the floor there is a little box on the floor. Right by the map.

  8. It's a different time of year. You need to set goals and take bold steps to achieve them. Remember that success does not happen overnight. You just have to stop procrastinate and try what you have always wanted, improve your life and well-being, investment property will take you to your dreams.

  9. Lost in the mall ?
Put your Japanese in practice and ask for help =))
or just scream "Fire!!, Fire!!" and follow the crowd… =))

  10. There are moments like these in your travels that I painfully relate to and that make me genuinely laugh. I hate the airports and train stations mixed with mega malls and labyrinths! Toss in a different language/culture, mix with the end of a long journey, and maybe it’s not in the realm of the seventh circle of hell but it’s definitely one of the waiting rooms.

  11. Poor Gabriel lucky you never got lost in the Japanese women's Lingerie section! imagine try to ask how to get out of there!? they might think you want to by something! 🤣

  12. I’ve just had a very similar experience on the Paris metro, I kept following signs that said exit (sortie) and 3 times in a row I ended up on different platforms 😂🤪

  13. Love this vid. Could be never ending. Not 'lost in translation' great movie btw but 'lost in shopping mall'😂. As always, you managed🦸🤞🤛. And you knew your hotel's name which the lady understood. We were told in the early days to always keep a card from the hotel with address in Japanese writing so that every taxi driver could bring us back.

  14. I felt so bad for you because you passed the 出口/deguchi/exit sign many times. I kept yelling, "Go that way!"

  15. あらら、迷路にはいっちゃったー。日本人でもわからないことありますが、プクトグラムが役に立ちますよ。

  16. A few places I'm considering going to is Vanuatu Island. I've heard the Cook Islands are cheaper than some of the other options in the area. I was going to go just before 2020, and happened upon an older man who has a very interesting spiritual practice that I wanted to check out, but I've since lost his name, email and data, so maybe it's not meant to be…. still, I heard some of the Cook Islands are paradise. I like to go to smaller locations cause I'm prone to easily getting lost. 😊😊 I couldn't find a vid on the Cook Islands, but ytube has recently changed its format, so maybe I can't locate yours? Also, wondering if you've got any vids on the west coast of Australia. Thanks very much.

  17. No need to say 'have a nice day' after saying 'thank you' to non-Americans. It really annoys us.

  18. if you do not speak Japonese it's hard to get around there without getting lost.

  19. I was in Tokyo this past weekend and had a couple of these moments. I think Shinjuku station is the most confusing place I've ever been!

  20. Hey Gabriel, I always wanted to know, what kind of roaming package do you have with T-Mobile? It seems you can use it almost everywhere, but surely the cost of roaming varies by country right? It probably must add up a lot being in Japan right now 😀

  21. Haha I watched the video with laughter.Malls in local cities in Japan may not have much English signage😅 Have a nice trip!

  22. 3:34 🎜"Welcome to the hotel Japaniiiiiaaaa…."🎜🎜 Priceless! Thanks for allowing me to visit Japan through your lense!

  23. My favorite expression of you dot Gabe Ayay, Ayay 😁🙂👍🙏🙂 thabkd for your wonderful video Godbless from the Philippines 😍 🇵🇭👏👏👏👏👏 sir Marvin
