A relaxing POV photo-walk atop Mount Ōmuro, an extinct volcano in Itō, Japan.

The volcano is about 580 meters high (1903 ft) and features a crater with a diameter of about 300 meters (984 ft). The walk takes about 30 minutes and offers panoramic views of Mt. Fuji, Oshima, and the Izu Islands. To access it, you need to take a 6-minute ski lift, which in and of itself is a fun experience. And if you’re into archery, there’s even a practice area at the bottom of the crater!

Walking on the summit feels quite surreal. If you go during the summer and the weather is right, it can feel like a true paradise. When I was done filming this episode and was riding the lift back down, I remember feeling completely rejuvenated. It must have been the spectacular views and the lush green grass. Or was it the cricket symphony and the soaring butterflies?
