My time in Kyoto is up and I’m heading to Tokyo. I thought a fun way to get there would be by train. But, not just any train…the world famous high-speed shinkansen bullet train.
Fun fact: Japan was the first country to build tracks exclusively for high-speed trains. This allows trains to floor it without any holdups. Punctuality is a huge focus here and trains arrive and depart on time, down to the second (with a few exceptions). According to most reports, the longest a train has ever been delayed is less than a minute.
Even though we were moving real fast, it was an incredibly smooth ride. It was clean, comfortable and passengers kept quite. My favourite part of the trip was watching outside. The ever changing landscape kept my eyes fixed to the window for most of it.

You're right. Planes are cheaper, but riding the train as a tourist is all about the experience.
Nice video! Question though, will I be able to see Mount Fuji on this route? And which side of the train should I be sitting to view it? Thanks!
