  1. I was the same way when I had the x100v with my a7iv; I felt so bad for not using the Fujifilm so I ended up selling it. Just having a small and light camera around your neck or hand is extremely liberating when taking photography instead of having to always take my bag along.

I definitely fall into that trap sometimes as well where I just take pictures of people on the street and the scene isn't interesting or there isn't something happening but then again I feel like there is a lot of subjectivity to this kind of art. Another thing to consider though is that taking pictures and finding them uninteresting later is better than not taking them in the first place. There's a video by the eyexplore channel about taking pictures of things that exist right now but won't exist later and he finds that fascinating, even though all the pictures are pretty basic and some may find them uninteresting. I feel that we might be able to apply this philosophy to some pictures we might find purposeless, if 0.1% of people find it interesting in some way then is it purposeless? Sorry for the long post I just find this subject very interesting.

Of course I don't have to comment on the video because it's exquisite as always, looking forward to the next one. Also, I'm coming to Japan in December most likely and Hiroshima might be a place to visit on my list.

  2. Man, 2:34 is amazing. The Ricoh guy checking out the lady's butt and the red thread of destiny connecting them. 10/10 shot. 💪

  3. You always get me tempted to buy a GRIII … i love shooting 28mm with the Fuji X100Vs WCL yet it’s a little bulky.

  4. Really beautiful shots and it really temps me to try something like the Ricoh!
"Unfortunately"… due to some problems with our A7iii we are going to have to buy a new camera when we get back to Bangkok and I am thinking about the A7iv but… having something that fits in a pocket for more accessible use is super tempting!
    Thank you for sharing!

  5. EXCELLENT video my man! Your approach and passion (even on a "bad") day shine in your images. Keep up the good work. Much love from Tennessee USA 🙏🏼

  6. I really enjoyed some of the shots and want to shoot more color with my griii now. If you were disappointed, now I’m excited to see when you have a good day.

  7. Some really beautiful light you experienced on that day. It must have been so inspiring when paired with the surroundings.

I enjoyed the way in which you critiqued your work and your process. This is the first video of yours that I have watched but it is clear that you have a lot of experience shooting and have a well developed style.

I agree with the images you selected that lack purpose. For me, I think it's important to ask myself "what am I trying to communicate with this image". I have no doubt that if you were to persist with shooting with the GR exclusively, you would become more familiar and comfortable with the focal length, and that would improve your keep rate.
