I had a similar experience to you with the towers but with the Sydney Opera House. I had been in Australia for a month but it wasn’t till I saw the Opera House that it made it real. I actually started laughing out loud on my own like a crazy person.
I had never had Indian food until I moved to Korea in 2012. I missed out for so long.

i was before pandemic with a group in italy and when we entered a church in padova women and men were asked to cover up as a respect and given cloths or blankets. i think that was a less insulting way to handle these situations
