THE PATH OF WILDNESS

The Path of Wildness is easy to find
The course of a stream
Leaves blown in the wind
A beast’s track through the brush
And the direction of our first inclination

The Path of Wildness is an answer and response to a prescribed way of life which may leave some individuals with a sense that their living is little more than a series of pre-determined, step-like episodes between birth and death. The stages of living between these events: childhood, adolescence, adulthood, parenthood and senior are themselves natural and in accord with the needs of the species and most individuals. Many find their satisfaction in living this course and to these individuals I have little or nothing to say. Others though long for something more; something innate, genetic and seemingly calling. Adventure and change can give a degree of satisfaction and relief yet even these may seem too tame. To those who feel drawn to something beyond the entertainment and stimulation of senses I offer a walk along The Path of Wildness. Don’t bother penciling the event in your schedule, preparing a pack with goodies and supplies or even inviting a friend along, for this experience is along the course of your first inclination and you must surely always go alone.

  1. You should get into photography Kurt, you have some real opportunities to capture some awesome work.

  2. Really enjoyed the experience, what a neat old tunnel! I was amazed at those two cars passing each other in the middle of it. My massive suv wouldn't even come close to getting in alone, let alone pass someone!

  3. You gotta watch some Japanese horror movies BEFORE going inside the tunnel to make it really creepy. Going in at night would also increase the fear factor. LOL

  4. Cool video Kurt…Carolyn and I watched this one together and at times we were really helping you suck it in so those cars did not hit you…..Thanks for taking us along…. Doug…..=)

  5. Wow! 1) So….all cars there are made so the mirrors fold in for the sake of tunnels like that? Because I know our car mirrors here in the USA don't totally fold in that same way, just tilt a bit. 2) Why are the tunnels made so purposefully narrow? 3) You said the people are driving fast in case someone wants to come in the other way. Is that allowed when there's only one lane???

  6. Hurray for Kei-cars!! The tunnel seems to have been made with those cars in mind. The 2 blocks at the entrance must be for that reason since all Kei-cars have the same width.

  7. hey kurt, haven been replying to my comments altely eh! guess u r bz, its creepy man, that long lonely tunnel haha! like it a lot though, gives you a sense of ..hmmm shall i say peace?

  8. @softypapa if you want to hear somthing scary look up the legend of ecca mantol I think? he is a japanese spirit that hides in womens bathrooms. He ask's if you want red paper or blue paper. Red paper will get the skin ripped of your back blue will get you suffocated.

  9. i dont know, that tunnel is way too narrow for my tastes. seems dangerious, i wouldnt want to actually walk down there….. well maybe… if theres a ghost

  10. Those 'red' lights are most likely low pressure sodium as those are common for tunnel lighting in Japan and the 'green' lights are high pressure mercury lamps.

  11. I swear, I thought those two cars were just going to challenge each other and see which one rips through the other and be the victor.

  12. i want to bring my pignose amp/guitar and do a improv solo quick recording before any cars drove by.probably at night.they do drive quick through it.surprised they did not have such a scene in the animation initial d.i could see the panda turreno drift into the tunnel, gauging the distance between the cement slabs with mm to spare,he freak of nature after all.laughs.yeah i watch a lot of japan films, anime, history, regular,i find them more interesting these days compared to hollywood, even with subs

  13. Wasn't that dark..at least the on camera. The color of the lights though. LOL Added a pretty cool mood.

  14. I am rather surprised that the local/provincial/Federal Gov't allows people to walk or bike through the tunnel, given the evident reality that they allow automobiles through the tunnel. At first I thought it had to be one way, because it is so skinny. I am even more so surprised that they allow walkers & cyclists to go through given that they allow automobiles traveling in both directions to go through…at the same time! Seems quite ridiculous, actually.
