We love Assateague. We usually stay at the state park side in the RV. For RVing the state park is the way to go. The bathhouses are great there. The horses aren't bad if people let them be, and be smart about their food and gear.
We had this exact camp site for a week in July! <3 Six nights was a little too long. LOL
We took our kids (who are now your age) tent camping when they were little. The 17 year locust were swarming. They were inside the tent, outside the tent, the kids made a locust shell graveyard, and they were pooping green from the trees. Give me a trailer any time.
when we first started camping. we tent (Canvas tent) camped. my mum vowed never to tent camp with a diaper pail.
I am laughing my butt off. We have been camping for over 60 years and are so used to it. We bought a 26' TT and we still love our tent better. I am 75 and still love tent camping in a tent. Buckle up Buttercup and have fun.
I used to tent camp all the time when I was a boy scout, then went a lot with my son when I was a scout master. We also tent camped as a family, but it was more like glamping to please my wife and daughter. But the day we bought our class A, never been tent camping since. Yeah, go to Walmart for supplies, unless you need high quality stuff that’s going to last. Looks like you had a good time, and more importantly, you created another great adventure with your family.
How fun
Thanks for sharing such a wonderful experience 😊
How do you folks celebrate Christmas in such a small space? Random question I know…. Also I could probably handle two nights tent camping. Then I'm done lol
Where’s the Honey Bucket? All my memories of tent camping include them.
You all are so funny and that’s because of how down to earth and real you are, by what you say and your reactions to every challenge you endure. 👍🇺🇸🔆🫖
Love y’all guys
What a wonderful experience for the kids more memories being made love it.Thanks for sharing. 🙂🇨🇦❤👍👍👍👍
The last time my wife and I did a backpack trip together, we hiked (on a fairly short and very easy) trail to a crescent shaped beach on the Pacific Ocean. It was packed with other campers and only one spot was left where we were able to set up our tent. Even with the crowded conditions, it was beautiful. The worst downside was that, pretty much all night, the gentle rhythm of the surf had me dreaming (and waking up each time the dream repeated) the tide had come in far enough that we were being washed out to sea in our tent. I confess that is one of the times I slept on the ground on one of those entirely inadequate pads without that particular discomfort bothering me as much as it usually did. So the nightmares did have that one positive aspect.
How come the tents didn't have sides or roofs????
I go tent camping once in a blue moon. I need three things for sure when I go……a comfortable folding mattress, a toasty sleeping bag and a tarp under my tent. A nearby restroom and morning coffee are a plus too
I wish I was some place warm
The sunglass thing ,I have also done that one, too.
OMG! You guys take a whole lot more for a family of 4 than we did for a family of 6! We would have that many containers if we were camping for 4 or 5 days. LOL!!! You all are bringing back some of my wonderful memories camping with our kids and all the fun we had. We always did some fishing too, so we had the poles & tackle too. All Everything and everyone packed into a minivan. LOL
Kudos! Best video ever!! ❤
Night, shore, ocean, horses, bonfire – it's very cool and romantic👍
Lordy, the things we do for our kids. I devoutly hope and pray I have already spent my last night in a tent.
I agree — we can't camp without sparkling water! 😄
I remember our beach camping experience years ago. We didn't even have a tent. We had two bed sheets and that was all. It was on a beach in Okinawa, Japan. That was the night we learned about high tide. 🙂
We tent camped for years. We had a decent size tent and got a double high mattress I was great, so comfortable.
Looked like you all had a great time. Always a joy to watch thanks for sharing. ❤❤🇬🇧
Super fun!
Hurrah for tent camping! Whenever we travel beyond our home state (where we use a pop-up camper pulled by our minivan), we tent camp with our 4 kiddos. I'm not gonna lie, it can be a hassle at times, especially in bad weather, but by tent camping, we can afford to go on longer trips to epic locations.
Listen, I’d rather tent camp with the wild horses on the beach than with snakes and gators in Florida.
Love it!! Camping on the beach in a tent is the best and so grounding! ❤❤❤❤
A blow up air mattress makes all the difference in happiness in camping. If you are comfortable, dry and warm, you will love it. A means of cooking simple food? Good to go. Walnart camping gear is perfectly fine. My favorite sleeping bag was about $15.
I can usually get a chuckle out of most of your videos, but with this one I was laughing full on right from the start. Grew up tent camping as a very young girl; family of five in an old-fashioned canvas tent. My little Brother was in diapers and I don’t know how my Momma did it, but we had a whale of a good time primitive camping – and I mean primitive.
Will definitely put beach camping at Assateague on my bucket list of things to do. There’s something very magical about seeing the dawn of a new day and the colors breaking on the horizon. One thing is for sure – I’ll have one of those new inflatable hiking/sleep pads for my older bones lol. Thanks for sharing!
Went there once to see the wild pony round up and was eaten alive by mosquitos.
Fun video. Thank you. Blessings
check out tent camping cherry springs state park dark skys. best place to see the milky way in the u.s
Never been tent camping and probably never will. I have trouble sleeping in a motorhome so no way I would sleep in a tent. Great job for sticking it out for a night to do that. I love horses but not going to sleep where the are..lol.
Omg, last week you were in the state I live, this week where I used to go almost every weekend as a kid! I'm so fan-girling! Lol!
Great memories. Lol to see the kids up at sunrise!
@LessJunkMoreJourney – now THAT's how to use stock footage effectively 🤣Next level editing on this one.
I'm sorry, but i think you guys stress out too much. I have been a tent camper my whole life till 2 years ago when we bought our first Travel Trailer. We have camped in almost every condition you can think of except extreme cold. We camped with children as young as 6mo old in a tent my parents bought when i was 5/6 years old. Children react to their parents and when the parents stress out so will they so just act like you are in seventh heaven and the kids will to. Love your channel. Sorry i missed you guys in Hersey.
Just down the way at Chincoteague did not appreciate the horses running all over our beach blankets and such. They had a ranger following the horses with claim forms because the horses would damage coolers and things trying to get food.
My wife watched y’all for 2-3 years. We camped our way across USA twice this year…in a tent. Can’t afford rv yet. Y’all inspired her.
We have done some tent camping. I had thought about trying it with our puppy once but, do not think that she will like it.
