In a sleepy town north of the resort area of Shirahama is sleepy, geriatric, fish-and-plum-obsessed Minabe Town. A small fishing port with a barrier island in the bay. the narrow streets consist mainly of businesses related to the sea. A fleet of small fishing vessels come in and out of the harbor to collect the bounty of the azure clean water. Everything is fresh, and at Motoya, a coop fish market and restaurant, your raw meal is as fresh as possible. With a small dining area overlooking the harbor, you are able to sample the area’s best seafood. And it is cheap! This beautiful spread was $30 USD, and would have been two or three times as much in the city.
