After nearly three years Japan has finally reopened its borders for tourists, but that doesn’t mean everything is smooth sailing for those looking to revisit some of the world’s best theme parks.

I have been wanting to go back to Japan in Spring 2023 but i feel like that time will be really popular with the boarders opening and spring
This is true. Recently went for their Halloween celebrations and was sad at how minimal the shows and decorations was. That said, I believe in supporting them because they will never be able to recover from COVID impact if we don’t. 😊
Yes i going to give it a little more time with as the restrictions only just dropped even more also i plan now on visiting in April and October 2023 as long as there are no other reasons why japan should be closing there borders which i hope not as i have been waiting for travelling to japan for over 3 years now.
The elimination of vegetarian options is a game changer for us😔
I want to go for Duffy and friends
I have a trip planned at the beginning of next year. I lived there for a few years before Covid so it’ll be interesting to see how it’s changed.
By the way USJ is pretty easy to get into.
Hi, I’m Japanese who love your videos💙About the credit card getting refused, when you access the website from official app or google, it fails. But when you copy link and paste it on Safari, it goes well. Don’t ask me why tho
Having just visited Tokyo Disneyland this past Sunday, I have to sadly agree with the comments made on this video. The park was very crowded, and most lines were over an hour long. Likewise long lines for food everywhere because it’s obvious the parks are operating with less staffing. The current state of the live entertainment is quite sad and disappointing. The parades are basically a few characters on floats without floor dancers and superb costumes. Merchandise is all the same in every store. Currently the nightmare haunted mansion overlay is only available using the standby system request on the app. All those standby turns were gone by 10am so anyone arriving after that time like me, didn’t get a chance to see it. In fact I didn’t see any of the attractions. I basically saw the parades and fireworks. Ate at a couple of counter service places and went window shopping. TDR today is a shell of what this resort used to be. I wouldn’t recommend a visit there anytime soon.
I really appreciate this info! I’ve been planning to take a trip here, it would be the only chance I have, now that I know all this I’m definitely going to hold off for a little bit
We visited TDL in September and while I agree with most of the comments in the video I still think this is a good time to visit TDL if you are coming from overseas given the historically low yen to dollar rate. Tickets in USD equivalent are currently cheaper than Knott's Berry Farm, let alone DLR and hotel, food and souvenirs are all bargains compared to the other Disney Resorts. Visit on a weekday, buy tickets in advance (surely most people are not taking an impulse trip to Japan?) and it'll be fine. You should avoid weekends and holidays – because of the current domestic tourism promotion the park and nearby hotels tend to be sold out well in advance and very crowded.
I’m going end of February ! Hopefully we can get in 😅😅😢😢😢
Disney has taken such a bad route with covid. Universal is so much better
ok
Tokyo half as good as it was is still better than WDW lol..
I don’t get it
and what pandemic
Went there at beginning of October…..Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain were closed. Beauty and the Beast was over a two hour wait, it was pretty cool. Haunted Mansion had no line but anyone who went in needed to make a reservation or pay extra to. A soulless cash grab just like Disney LA. Tokyo Sea…you are not missing much if you don't go. If you are visiting Japan from the outside go visit Osaka and visit Universal Studios where the rides work. Kyoto is close by and like Osaka seem to have much more to see.
I was planning to go to Tokyo Disneyland lol
Japan is one of the best places that has more amusement parks in the world and im glad too See your videos before going too Disney Tokyo ❤💙❤☺I love Too see people smile in the Theme park❤💜❤☺☺
Sorry but it's not true. It was no problem to buy tickets with European credit card.
Complete bunkum. I was JUST THERE on Tuesday. We had a great time…once you get past the ticket issues. One way around it is to just get a disney hotel and tickets can be purchased same day between 6am and 9pm, guaranteed.
Great recap of the rocky start TDLR is going through right now, you put most of the problems with the resort into one easily understandable format.
From what I've seen, although the quality of food, decorations, and showmanship has dropped off post-COVID, surprisingly TDLR has kept up pretty well with maintaining their attractions. I have yet to see maintenance levels drop to the likes of Disneyland, Disney World, or Disneyland Paris.
Hopefully, it's only up from here
Great coverages guys. Its sad to see these amazing resorts operating at such reduced measures compared to pre-COVID, but im hoping this is just short lived. Fingers crossed, anyways 🤞🤞
Just went there a few days ago and had a great time. Lines were short and the crowds were great! They’re doing a great job managing crowds. Way better than Disneyland in Cali.
Lmao, this video is misleading. Went there this week while in Tokyo and had a great time! No issues at all.
Wow. This video was super negative. If it’s a truly once in a lifetime trip, I’d probably wait. But otherwise, I don’t think you should wait. There are no guarantees as to the timing of when things will be completed or how much of a celebration they’re going to have.
I had no issue securing my ticket, including the 20% discount, using a foreign credit card. Yes, it’s a bummer not being able to get a multi-day pass. But I bought two one-day passes for $49/day! So cheap!!
No Disney park around the world is back to the way it was and they charge a hell of a lot more. I think if you wait around for that day to come, you will never go. I will always appreciate just being able to go and be surrounded by the beauty of the TDR parks and the kindness of the cast members. Having been to WDW & DL this year as well, the experience definitely did not match the extreme prices they charge. They were not clean (WDW), super crowded and just overall unpleasant.
You can buy park tickets ahead of time at the Disney Store out there.
Heading there in Dec/Jan. No bad reviews can dissuade us from visiting TDR 🙂
Me and my friend just went and they sold the tickets to us at the park
We just came back from Disneysea – checkout my video. It's not as bad. Sure tickets are hard to get and a few rides are unavailable. However, there are enough attractions to have a good time. We didn't get to ride those popular rides as the queue was too long. There were many people too. Still loads of fun though! Hope you guys enjoy them too.
Bad news https://youtu.be/yioG7mK01U0
Klook just opened the tickets for both parks. Can buy straight 10 tickets every transaction. Bought mine for end Nov trip.
We got tickets through Klook , super easy!!
Will it be ok in fall 2023? We’re planning to go to Tokyo for our honeymoon
I got the 20% discount ticket last week from their web and doesn’t have any problem purchasing it 😕
Great video! I'm going in December, but I've already been there three times, so I know what to expect. Disappointed that the seasonal events and merchandise aren't what they could be, as well as the loss of the multi day tickets (especially that three day ticket with the park hopper the third day!), but still excited to visit for the first time in three years.
Even merchandising in Tokyo Disney Resort is still in "COVID mode". Very few seasonal products compared to pre-covid.
not me planning to go before this year ends 🥴
