Orkanen (Hurricane in Danish) is a Vekoma suspended family coaster similar to Freedom Flyer at Fun Spot America in Orlando and Kvasten at Gröna Lund in Stockholm. It opened in 2013 and is is Denmark’s longest suspended coaster and the only coaster in Northern Europe that runs both above and below the water.

Fårup Sommerland is located north of Aalborg near Saltum, Denmark.

This is the exact same video as the Orkanen 3D video we posted for those that cannot view the 3D version on their phone or tablet. Here is the link to the 3D video we posted: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUPLVRh36IM

  1. Holiday World needs something like this. I think maybe 8 cars per train instead of 10 would be better though.

  2. This could be added to pretty much any park as a kid/family version of their inverted coaster (unless the park already has a swinging coaster like Ninja from Magic Mountain or Iron Dragon from Cedar Point).

  3. This ride looks like so much fun! Just enough elements and back to back to back. Can't wait to see this get cloned for Dollywood!

  4. Dang, I was hoping for a faster coaster for Dollywood. This one looks like a snor fest 😴

  5. 100% my fav rollercoater in Fårup. Lynet is a 2nd But dang i love orkanen. Sad that its so short. Same with lynet
