News day in the Philippines. I will discuss the latest about the Executive Order allowing unvaccinated foreigners and tourists to travel to the Philippines with only an Antigen test, the All Saints All Souls Day Holidays, Halloween, storm damages and travel delays from tropical storm Paeng (Nalgae), and recent earthquakes.

  1. Dropping the mask requirement is confusing. At SM in Roxas City here u cannot enter w/o one as of yesterday. Stay dry Rody. We didn't get much of the storms wind but I measured over 300mm over 2-3 day period. I believe another one coming I think to be named " Queenie ".

  2. Storm passed pretty close by early this morning. Got real lucky power went out for about 8 hours and was restored by dawn. What a relief. RIP to all who lost their lives. Thanks Rod.

  3. Okay this is pretty devastating. I saw a house collapse during a landslide. 🙏 for everyone's safety. Stay safe at home and binge watch Netflix Rod.

  4. Here's one for the algorithm God's! Thank you for your work! I have been subscribed for maybe all of your journey here and still even though I'm getting up there in the 70's refuse to give up on at least giving it my best effort! Cancer, shall I say world wide government mistakes and crazy exe's are just words putting meaning to the expression life is the journey not the destination. I'll keep stepping closer even in my 90's if necessary! I just got to buy you that cup of coffee or maybe dinner! 🍽
    Sincerely,
    Bmeisterusa

  5. Yes I caught it on the World News with shots of the flooding and land slides and did predict it strengthening as it goes west !!

  6. Thanks for the regular view of Cebu Rod, I hope the weather will get better soon and the water leaks will stop. Hoping the executive order will be signed soon so I can plan my return to the Philippines. In the meantime I’ll spend some time in Thailand travelling around.

  7. My wife there still doesn't have power from the storm, just outside of Manila.

  8. Good video Rod. I'm beginning to think the rain is going to come in until you have storm shutters to break the force. Of course that won't help you with the upstairs dripping on you. Take care.

  9. Been waiting to get some news from San Isidro, Leyte. I have not had any contact since Friday evening (PH) time. I know that the electric power went out there Thursday night.

  10. Nalgae = similar to Nalgas = butt cheeks in Spanish… no doubt the victims of this storm would have no argument to that comparison.

  11. That's some downpour in Cebu Rod! My Filipina colleague flew to Manila 8am this morning because of a death in the family I haven't heard if she made it! Re- those graves. One cousin told me that those grave sites are owned by the Catholic Church. And yes, you are correct; once the family stops paying the rent on that burial plot, the church exhume the bones and places them in what they call "the common grave", which really is just the more polite way of "dumping grounds for unclaimed bones". The bones are not even placed in individual boxes 🙄

  12. ❇️ I prefer east or north facing aspect ✅ morning sun ☀️ avoid the west afternoon heat 🥵 and avoid the southerly winds 💨 and storms ⛈

  13. All Saints and All Souls Days do fall on Nov1 & 2nd every year. The 1st is for All Saints and martyrs and the 2nd is for the regular people who died within the faith.
    Thanks for the weather updates

  14. Worries me now and trying to compare the weather here where we are, snow blizzards or tropical storms🧐thank youRod👌

  15. All this rain and wind directed at the Philippines recently is starting to make me suspicious that these are manipulated weather events…especially this most recent storm suddenly made a hard left to track almost directly over Manila, weird…prove me wrong.

  16. i wish you would talk more specifically about the swab TEST ( it is NOT a small matter )…and the new rules regarding "phones"…i have an old nokia phone…( dumb phone ) no wifi….can only use test…..so ?…what happens to me ?…what if i am old fashioned and i do not have a cellphone ., at all ?…..good job rod….thumbs up !…..glad your there to keep us informed…and clarify it's still raining > fear and confusion….in the phil'

  17. Hey Rod, did you see the Korean Airlines plane that overshot the runway in Cebu because of bad weather. Plane was destroyed, but fortunately no lives lost

  18. like me you love the Philippines and its people, you make very informative videos, you live in a building that will never be fix or stop leaking, let us see a video of you living in a better place. (unless you are stuck in a lease at this moment.)

  19. Hopefully the roof don't cave in windows sealers earrived only takes 10 minutes to filled like Decerattion Hopefully they scrapped all that soon 2023 aiming February Sars ends 2003

  20. Good overview
Philippines is in middle of all types of storms.
At least the local LGU is keeping us safe for the crowded cemetery arrivals .
Landslides and other fatalities always have a second priority.
Masks are reinstated in CDO, Davao, Manila areas for days of dead.

  21. Guess Marcos is waiting until the locals finish at cemeteries before signing and dating the EO path back to humanity

  22. Very good video ride thank you once again also I’m thinking the leak in your windows sometimes those building shifts in the seal will break having said that there should be a warranty when they install those windows maybe 20 years who knows I’m not sure about warranties in the Philippines LOL but they should fix that. Anyway thanks for all you do I will be there I’m hoping in the first quarter of next year just waiting for my Social Security to go through.

  23. Hi Rod hope all is well with you
My question is what city would you know about that has less typhoons i am coming end of November to check possible retirement by next year. Thank you 😊

  25. the cubicles are called a columbary sir Rod. I think it's upwards of 5k pesos to rent per year but maybe the price has gone up. Thanks for the updates.

  26. All Saints day Nov.1 and All Souls Day Nov.2, always in these dates never change. and It's on Nov.1 is when most people go to the Cemetery. Halloween Oct. 31 is not big in Phils. maybe just past 10 years. For me just seen it in the movies.

  27. Good morning. What emergency app do you use? I heard some scary info about these dams in the Pavia area. How they might be reaching critical levels. I would like to verify it. Thanks a lot.

  28. All this disaster but these condos are still being built without any demand for occupancy. I’m wondering if you will eventually see condos for rent at $100 USD per month or for sale for $20K.

  29. Glad you survived that bad storm.
I don’t comply and I believe the science is bogus concerning this Cl9 con. Germ theory is still just a theory. I’m almost 65 and haven’t even had a cold in years. That’s because I detox my body quarterly.

  30. Hi Rod! I got a feeling the materials that was used to build the condo was not on a high quality materials. When a big rain or typhoon comes water gets in to your window or ceiling. Does your landlord fix the leaks after the rain? If not, better move to a different place Rod. Every year November 1st and 2nd Philippines celebrate that holiday. We go to mass and visits our loved ones in the cemetery . Families gets together and lots of eating also. Hehe
