Hey Guys, I recently visited this most famous zoo in Pune named Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park. It is also called as Katraj Zoo, Snake Park Pune and Rajiv Gandhi Zoo.
This place is located right between Katraj, Pune city surrounded by the concrete jungle, close to Katraj Milk Factory.
The opening hours of this zoo are 9.30 am to 6pm.
The best time to visit is in the morning, as in the afternoon animals dozed off. You can see varieties of animals like LEOPARD, BEER, DEER, SAMBAR, ELEPHANT, TORTOISE, TIGER, LION, GAUR, PEACOCK, BLACK KITE, GHARIAL, ALIGATOR, FLAPSHELL TURTLE, GREEN IGUANA, MONITOR LIZARD AND ETC.
Also, there is a snake park inside which is the best and highlighting part of this Katraj zoo. There are multiple types of snakes like RAT SNAKE, RUSELL’S VIPER, TRIKET, BAMBOO PIT VIPER, COBRA, CHECKERED KEELBACK, WATER SNAKE, BANDED RACER, RETICULATED PYTHON, COMMON KRAIT BANGARUS CAERULEUS AND SO ON.
