Ferry Rokko (Miyazaki Car Ferry Co., Ltd. フェリーろっこう 宮崎カーフェリー) is Japan’s newest overnight ferry that just started operating on October 4th.
This time, I traveled 495 km (307mi) from Kobe to Miyazaki in the second cheapest room on the ship called Dormitory.

* I forgot to take a video, but there was a shop, so you can buy anything.
* The buffet restaurant was good value for money.
* While the ferry was underway, I could see nothing but the horizon outside.

Do you know if there is a ferry service between Kagoshima/Miyazaki and Tokyo/Yokohama? I would much prefer it over taking a domestic flight, but if I have to also take a shinkansen before/after the ferry, it'll be over-budget for me, sadly.

I like Japanese ferries, they are for truck drivers but almost all the ferries are super clean and mere travelers can enjoy cozy cruise. Among so many ferry routes, my favorite is between Hakata in Kyushu and Goto Islands, which is the westernmost island of Japan. We enjoyed beautiful scenery of East China Sea.
