  1. Co clean compared to the NYC trains with those horrible looking green trusses and the filth.

  2. The job of operator looks really boring. One end of the line to the other, then switch ends to repeat all day.

  3. In 1961, Los Angeles was given the opportunity to have a monorail installed throught the city, built at no cost to taxpayers, by ALWEG (the company that built the Seattle monorail and partnered with Disney to build the Disneyland monorail). Sci-fi author Ray Bradbury was a fervent suporter, along with many prominent members of the community. The LA city council voted no. They decided they would build a transit system themselves. Here we are 60 years later and we still do not have anything as extensive as what ALWEG proposed, and we have spent billions and billions of dollars. This was a tremendous opportunity lost to politics and corruption.

  4. Yes, I do think this should be expanded upon. It really give more desire to make buildings have a continuous clean/maintained eye appeal.

  5. The Japanese use hanging monorail systems extensively to get mass transit in the air without obstructing the view of the sky.

  6. Now if only texas could get a high speed rail, it keeps getting delayed, but it's proposed to take 90min from Houston to Dallas.

  7. I lived in Seattle. Fled that shit hole like a convict on the run. Compared to other monorail systems this one is a joke.

  8. Wow why aren't you looking into the old steam trains that they actually took sledgehammers to and destroyed. Yeah I'm on a rail you should have seen it what they had way back when. It blows my mind how people like yourself think that we're moving forward in technology we're so ass backwards we don't even know the difference between boys and girls anymore. Really you should be researching tartaria get with the reality everything we know is a lie

  9. The original southern terminus for the monorail was actually across the street from where it is now, they knocked that down, moved the tracks over slightly and built that mall. It’s kind of a shame they lost that piece of history, but now it’s a park.

  10. It isn't shown in the video, but the monorail actually goes through a nearby museum. They designed the building with a tunnel going through it to accommodate the monorail lol

  11. Monorail is kind of a gadgetbahn tbh. Lower capacity than standard rail, more expensive, requires different and more specialized parts and maintenance, has to be completely separate, to the point where you have to ask- what's the point? If you want an elevated train system, why not do that with regular rail? The only seeming benefit achieving maximum soyface levels from NIMBYs and Elon Musk stans alike.

  12. It's an over-priced ride that lasts about a minute (except in that Elvis movie, It Happened at the World's Fair, where it goes on and on while he sings).

  13. Just as in the video when I was in Seattle last year I said to myself, where is everybody? Place was empty.

  14. Seattle residents voted three times to expand the monorail and each time the proposal was killed by Seattle downtown elites.

  15. I’ve visited the city at least a dozen times and it has never occurred to me to ride the monorail

  16. Saya rasa risau bila landasan cuma ada satu garis dan ia membuatkan saya rasa gayat gila berbanding landasan biasa yang lebih selamat 🐧 apapun ia adalah kemajuan untuk negara maju anda
