This was the best part of our Japan trip. A pilgrimage across snow mountains, majestic lake created by the largest dam in Japan, underground train, cable car, you name it.
Our Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route started from Tokyo to Nagano by Shinkansen bullet train. We bought the whole ticket trip at Nagano Station. From there, we caught an Alpico bus to Ogizawa. One more ride by electric bus, we arrived at Kurobe Dam. Snow mountain, lush greenery and blue water combined into an amazing dreamlike scenery.
Next stop, we took the cable car to Kurobedaira. There you can take a selfie from 1828 meters above sea level with stunning white snowy mountain. We hopped on Tateyama Ropeway to our next destination, Daikanbo. An observation deck facing the solitude of pointy green peaks, 2316 meters above sea level.
Last check point was Murodo, the highest peak of Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, which reaches 2450 masl. White grand mountain peaks every where we could see, standing with pride as if it have comprehend all the secrets in the history of earth. Actually in winter we can witness the famous snow wall on our bus trip to Bijodaira, but when we went there, it was approaching the peak of summer, so, no luck there.
One last cable car to Tateyama Station, and it was ended. A magical day to experience while on our way to Kanazawa. Stay tune for our next video. 🙂
