What an interesting mix of cruise news today. There is an Icon of the Seas update from Royal Caribbean. We also have Holland America Line celebrating the loyalty of a very unique passenger. Regent Seven Seas is crowing about an egg for its new cruise ship and well I got a little annoyed over Star Wars on the Allure of the Seas. Cruise News and My Views! Let’s talk about it.

  1. That’s crazy I have never spoken to anyone at Park West that was clueless. I spent 2k on a Peter Max on the Symphony last month plus a painting by another artist I like.

  2. Tony…what you should of said after the Park West guy said "I don't know" You should of pulled a $20 bill out of your Wallet, put it in his hand and said " I'll be back in 45 minutes, wrap it up, put a bow on it…Its my wife and my anniversary, and she will love it" before he gets a chance to say anything, turn around and walk away. He probably won't act that way again….Matt

  3. I bought plenty of artwork from Park West,,,,, I am an artist myself, would love to send you some of my notecards

  4. Lmao at I didn't buy a watch either 🤣😂🙃😅. At least he didn't say look man I'm just here I usually work in the kitchen

  5. Tony , don’t let the online trolls beat you up .. I totally enjoy your “ cruise” hands and your humour . I look forward to your videos . They always put a smile on my face up here in Canada . Keep up the great work

  6. I bought a painting through park west . There warehouse is in Florida . It took a year of complaining .. they finally sent the overpriced painting .. one week later , another came .
2 weeks ago on getaway .. the art rep told my friend she probably couldn’t afford it when she asked about a price . These paintings are a sham.
As for the watches, on princess I bought an “Expensive “ watch on sale .. three weeks later a watch dealer opened my watch up and said that the inner workings were the equivalent of a 10’dollar watch

  7. Booked Icon for June ‘24 on Day 0. I think the ship looks amazing, although I do think it’s more for young families (of which I no longer am).

  8. I don’t need slides and flowriders. There are plenty of Royal ships I would like to try before Icon.

  9. Former Flight Attendant: 1. Even miniture horses are trained to be service animals. 2. I had a golden retriever with a first class passenger. The dog layed at the passengers feet from Miami to Madrid. (Did not need to use (?) toilet. When I returned home I called a person that trains service animals who told me that on flghts their body digestive systems slow way down allowing them to not need certain things. I wished passengers were as well behaved.

  10. Not sailing ICON, too big , too family amusement park oriented. Really looking for smaller and more service oriented ships for future. While we will almost surely sail Oasis class again mainly because of limited number of ships cruising from our N.E. driving location.

Art sales on ships, pretty much a big con.

REAL Service dogs are great! The BS emotional animals are a while different story. Most are not really classified or trained, merely pets that some people want with them. If you are so emotional you need your emotional dog then in my opinion for what it is worth you have no business on a huge ship way out at sea. Most airlines and cruise lines have made emotional dogs not allowed. A Service dog is a different matter. I live in an area that trains Guiding Eyes dogs. It is an extensive process carried around all over our the streets and sidewalks of our area. They have legal documentation etc.

  11. I think Americans with Disability Act requires that cruise ships calling at US ports to permit service animals, and provide other accommodations if required.

  12. Hey Tony, in regards to the guy not giving you the price, I hate to say this and I don’t usually think this way but I’ve had a few experiences like this. Odds are, he looked you and decided that you wouldn’t or couldn’t afford the picture so he didn’t want to waste his time with you. Like I said it’s happened to me a few times. Usually when I have been dressed causal, coming back from the gym and popped into a store to look at a nice dress and the sales person wouldn’t give me the time of day. In once incident I went back to the store after work as I was dressed for a office presentation and the same person was so so helpful with me about purchasing the dress I looked at the previous day and I knew she didn’t recognize me. Long story short, I asked for the manager and told her what had happened the day before. She apologized and offered me a discount on the dress, I said no, I’m taking my business elsewhere…..and never went back. People judge people all the time which is so unfortunate.

  13. We went to an art auction once on NCL and the paintings that went up for auction sold for many times over the $300 to $500 price you would have been interested in.
It would be interesting to see if the painting you were interested in ever sold and at what price.

  14. I think its awesome but ridiculous at the same time!
I hope a sister ship will be smaller like maybe Allure sized or Anthem haha which I know they would have to get rid of a lot of things but… my thing is I get it's more family oriented, but then getting rid of the solarium (I know there's still am adult area) I'm upset about, they could have made the solarium mind blowing but they didn't. Most will say go to Celebrity if you don't want the families, but for me celebrity is a bit too… on the older side. Like I need something in between haha.
Idk if I'll be going on the Icon. I want too but at the same time I don't.

  15. I've gone to the auctions from what I understand if that piece is going to be auctioned I don't think they can tell you, it doesn't get announced the price until its about to be auctioned off. Then there are free standing pieces thay won't be auctioned that they will tell you the price.

  16. Tony- about a week ago I saw a scammer and he wanted people to contact you on telegram app.

  17. I have bought art on cruises. The only reason being was that we had an excursion that was canceled so I had money to spend. We just got the prints, all from same artist, and had them framed when we got home. They are hanging in my living room now. The art auctions are kinda fun too.

  18. Hi Tony, I'm sure you probably know this by now, but that Battle of Hoth painting is by Thomas Kinkade and you can buy it directly from them. My husband and I own several Kinkade prints / paintings and we just love what his studio puts out.

  19. I have bought art on a cruise recently. They DO have prices and you don't have to bid at auction to buy. You find the staff member with the tablet, not the papers. You can get the price, framed or unframed & sometimes in different size options.

  20. I went hiking every night on the Wonder running track, which is on deck 5 (lifeboat deck) and goes completely around the ship – and is covered, which was nice. At one corner there was a dog area – fake hydrant, sandbox, water station – and I had no idea what it was used for. Now I know!!

  21. I just got off Oasis Of The Seas 2 weeks ago, people were already talking about the bookings that they made on NextCruise as soon as the Royal announced that Icon was on sale. It was crazy! They announced the bookings were available while I was onboard, so I got news of it first hand.

  22. We bought an art once. We went to the auction just for fun because it was raining on a sea day and actually saw something we liked. The Park West person knew we were interested but didn’t want to spend the money they said it was being auctioned for. At some point they asked what we “would” spend on it. When we told them & they actually auctioned it at that price. We liked it (and still do) so we bought it and it is in our living room. No regrets! You just have to hold your ground at those auctions!

  23. This is for laugh only Tony. 🤣🤣🤣Speaking of special cruisers. Is old age a new excuse now a days. We're on a Grand Princess bound to Sydney and some older cruisers don't seem to give a s@@# to others. They wonder not knowing where to go on public spaces like it's their living room and block everybody behind. And when you passed them they get mad at you for being rude at over passing them😒. I wonder who is being rude 😊. Love you and Jenny a lot. Keep this contents coming😘😘😘😘

  24. The Park West art auctions are for entertainment. The "art" is mass produced with no limit on production. Claimed original art or one of a kind may be as stated, but such are extremely overpriced on cruises. Usually value is based on type of media, and production numbers.

  25. With regard to the piece of art, no matter who he was, he was representing the art and if he didn’t know, his reply should have been, “I will get someone who can help you or I will find out for you” etc.
A real pet peeve of mine that in any interaction with customers that the answer is ever “I don’t know!”

  26. We considered buying art on NCL in the Mediterranean, however we would’ve had to then pay the 20% spanish sales tax, it would be shipped from the US to The EU for a fairly high price and then likely need to pay VAT+ import fees because it was shipped from the US.
