Landed at Tokyoβs Narita Airport and hopped on the Shinkansen straight to our first stop : KYOTO ! π―π΅
Luka, the trooper, was 6 month old and followed us through our 3-week trip. We flew from Paris to Shanghai, then to Tokyo and then the train to Kyoto. πΆπ» βοΈ βοΈ π
We were rewarded with good Onigiri from 7-Eleven. Yes, 7-Eleven!! In Japan, there is one on every corner with more than 20,000 of them around the country. Known just as a gas station in the US, in Japan it is one of the top food product retailer where you can pretty much get anything to eat and it is actually pretty good! π π£ π±
Luka was born with his feet tilted inward like a monkey so we felt like a visit to the monkey park was necessary !! Kyotoβs Inuyama monkey park is super nice and you are rewarded with a very nice view of Kyoto once you arrive to the top! π π π
We were there during school time and it was very inspiring to see the activities the local kids were doing and we were very surprised with the discipline. Japan is very safe so do not be shocked to see kids riding the bus and trains by themselves. π« π₯π
Kyoto is one of the oldest city of Japan and is considered the cultural capital of Japan. It was definitely worth being our first stop as we got immersed into the culture instantly.
