I had a business in Tachikawa so to reduce train usage I took my camera bag and filmed a walk after I finished the business.
I walked through streets around JR Tachikawa and Tama Monorail stations, filmed remains of Christmas lights, found a place with micro bars. Almost in the end I did very nice discovery with light show.
No cats were found 😿

People forget that in addition to general sanitation. Japanese design favors " clean " lines and simplicity. This creates the super clean vibe foreigners get from watching the videos. Combined with the fact that most people can talk without yelling or they have on work clothes, Tokyo seems not only physically clean but less threatening than nyc , london, or paris.
十数年前に立川を離れ現在関西に住んでますがとても懐かしく思います大きく変わっているところもあれば昔のままの所もコロナが落ち着けば立川に戻りたいです
立川市民からしてみると、今は普通に見る風景だが、20年後30年後にはとても懐かしい、貴重な記録映像になってゆくのだろうなと思う。

I was stationed here in 1965-66 at Tachikawa AFB. How it has changed you wouldn't believe it is the same place, benjo ditches and dingy dilapidated shacks lined every street in the 60's. Japan is a great testament to a free society and capitalism and how it can bring a country from absolute poverty and misery to a prosperous great nation.
I miss their antique cafe serve with green beverage and vanilla ice on top

だいたい北口にいます。

ものですので同じく乞食です。
近未来化が物凄く西東京トップの人通りですので嘘と未来が合わさった不思議な空気を
味わいたい人なら是非いらしてください。
I used to walk those same streets 53 years ago as an American high school student. I lived on Tachikawa Air Base, now Showa Kinen Park. I can't see a single landmark that I would remember now.
