Kuala Sepetang (十八丁) also known as Port Weld is a small sleepy historic town originated from tin mines port activities and traditional fishing village located at the estuary river mouth flowing into Straits of Malacca about 15km west of Taiping.

Port Weld is notable for being the terminal station of the first ever railway line to be built in Malaya which was located at the centre of the tiny town. The entire railway track from Kuala Sepetang to Taiping was dismantled in the 1980 and now replaced with the main road.

Fishing is still the the main activities here for its residents and you can explore this place by cruising along the River Estuary via Eco Tour Boating where they will briefly introduce the town and show you the fishermen’s houses built on stilt and most of them have their own mini private jetty at their backyard.
