We had lunch at Sobakiri Chosuke (そばきり長助), a famous Soba restaurant in Kakunodate, Akita Prefecture in Northern Japan (秋田県角館町.) We opted for a two-variety Soba (Buckwheat Noodles) set, which consisted of “Red” Soba as well as Soba that consisted of buckwheat from Aizu (Fukushima.) Both were 100% pure buckwheat Soba noodles. The offering that we ordered, in Japanese, is called あかそばと会津在来の二種類食べ比べ.
