🇵🇭ONOK ISLAND in the Balabac group of islands is undeniably the most beautiful ISLAND we have seen during our 4 days and 3 nights island hopping expedition in the Balabac area.
Moreover, it’s without a doubt the most beautiful island we have seen in the Philippines and maybe in the world!
🌴🌴🌴
Because we have chosen to do 4 days island hopping, on our second day we spent the entire day at Onok Island and we can honestly say it was still not enough time! 🥹

Onok Island is known for the GIANT CLAM SANCTUARY. These clams are so large and beautiful!
If you come here, do not miss the chance to see these amazing creatures! There can be current, so it takes a bit of effort to swim out to the sanctuary, but it’s so worth it! ♥️

The island is also famous for the big TURTLES that like to swim around the beach here, we have seen about 7-8 of them very close to eachother!
Please do not chase them, just observe them from afar, without causing them any distress (any video in this vlog that seems very close is just zoomed in).
🌴🌴🌴
Right before we left the island, a large STINGRAY showed up next to our boat – it was very interesting to see how she started to cover herself in sand when we noticed her!🥰

Just be careful around them as their tail is really venomous! If they will sting you, in the best case scenario you will be in pain for days (I won’t describe worst case scenario)
I know by experience how painful their sting is, I got stung 2 years ago in Linapacan by a much smaller one (maybe 25% of the size of the one we will show you in this video) and I was in huge pain the first 8 hours – in fact, the scar area is still sensitive today.

We highly recommend choosing the 4 days expedition so you can chill here for an entire day, the island is simply JAW DROPPING and there is no chance to get bored! 😍

P.S. The are many nik niks (sandflies) on the far side of the island – we got bitten about 50 times each 😫
These bites can itch for weeks! As a solution you can put coconut oil all over your body, they will not be able to bite through the oil (don’t forget to reapply) – we tested this method later in Coron and it worked – thanks for someone in the Filipino community for suggesting it!
