To say that Japan is known for its sushi is tantamount to pointing out that France is known for pastries, or England is known for rain. It’s something we all know. As such, it can feel daunting to try to figure out which of the many, many sushi spots you should try if you make it over to the land of the rising sun. There are hundreds of potentially amazing sushi spots in Tokyo alone, let alone the entire country of Japan. Our best suggestion is to try to mix it up a little. Try places of varying size, price points (if possible), and vibe. And try to sample some places that specialize in traditional and bare-bones sushi dishes, and some that think outside of the box. Japan is an incredible place to visit, and not just for the food. Its architecture, technological wonders, art, and natural wonders make it one of the most popular places in the world to visit. But unlike some other places in the world, the food in Japan is also out of this world.

Whether you’re a long-time sushi lover, or you are looking to try it for the first time, you’ll be glad you tried some of these amazing sushi restaurants while you visit Japan. You could eat sushi nonstop for every meal and not come close to running out of new and enjoyable places to try. So check out this video today for a great jumping off point.
