In this Thailand Travel Vlog we continue exploring around Chiang Rai in the north of Thailand. We were planning on renting a motorbike like we did the day before, however it wasn’t possible to drive to the Golden Triangle on a bike due to all the rain! We ended up finding a cheap car rental which we paid 1,000 baht for the day and were able to take the car right then.
Our first stop was the Golden Triangle – where Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos meet! It was a really cool place that we were so excited we finally made it to!!! You’re able to stand on the edge of Thailand and see all 3 countries at once! You can also take a boat ride between the three countries (although we chose not to as our day started much later than planned).
After the Golden Triangle, we drove over to the Tham Luang Cave. Although there was a lot of rain, it made the entire area so gorgeous and green!! We loved the scenery as we drove through the hills! The downside to all the rain was that the Thamluang Khunnam Nangnon National Park was closed! We were unable to see the cave that was made famous from the Thai soccer team that was trapped in it for almost 3 weeks in 2018!
After failing at seeing the cave, we continued to drive up the mountains toward the Pha Hee Village. We were shocked at how steep the drive was – with tons of rain and cliffs on both sides of the road! It was even scarier as the rain caused lots of mudslides on the roads that were being cleaned up as we were trying to drive.
We ended up stopping by the Life Museum Cafe which had the most amazing mountain views!! It made the drive worth it!
This was definitely one of the more difficult rainy season trips we’ve taken in Thailand, however it was still an amazing and memorable day!

  4. I went to Chiang Rai about 4 Times. Chiang Rai is so cool. I recommended you to go to Chiang Rai between November and January. On the road between border Thailand and Myanmar, you can see the military officer check point because many Myanmar people fled to Thailand for find a job and also some of them bring drugs into Thailand. However this road is a famous tourism , you can find many good coffee shops because in this area, they plant the good arabica coffee tree as well known in Thailand.

  5. น่าสนุกครับ ได้เที่ยวแบบ ผจญภัย
