Singapore’s resort island Sentosa is known for beaches, Universal Studios, casino, aquarium – all the fun stuff. But there is one area rich in history but almost forgotten by the tourists. It is called Fort Siloso, located at the West tip of the Sentosa Island. Today, I am visiting the 146 years old fort by foot, passing by the beautiful Imbiah Trail.

  1. Atashinchi!! I love that anime!

Do you know that Labrador Park has a tunnel that leads to Fort Siloso? You can try.

  2. Imagine being the guy who forgot his sword when he left the old City hall when he went back after the surrender. It's not exactly a hasty retreat.

  3. Thanks for sharing the great video!
When I was in school, we had excursions to Sentosa and Fort Siloso is one of the key attraction that we must visit to learn about Singapore's history.
As for the nature trials, I am embarrassed to say that I have no visited those areas despite going to Sentosa so many times, I will check those out on the next visit!

  4. Those were sad times for Singapore. Lived in Tokyo for awhile and met a Japanese lady in her 60's. When she found out that I was a Singaporean, she bowed and apologised for the things that were done to our people and country. I was in my thirties then and was very surprised to receive such a heartfelt apology from a senior Japanese! I hadn't even told her that my maternal grandfather had been executed by a Japanese firing squad on Christmas Island. He was working there with his two nephews when Singapore fell to Japan. My mother was about 5 years old when she lost her father.

  5. “Why the heck am I doing this at 3pm on a weekday?”

    😂 😂 😂

  6. Visit the Changi Chapel (Changi Museum) near Changi Prison, and you can see the writings and drawings left behind by the P.O.W.s. More relics from the war including personal dairies, weapons, uniforms and such are exhibited at the former Ford Factory where the British surrendered to the IJA. A lot of the battles were fought in the West (i.e. Bukit Timah, Pasir Panjang) as the invading troops landed in the North/West. You can still find some of the remaining structures along the Bukit Timah forest trail, and Pasir Panjang road.

  7. Hi Ghib can you do a video of your Japanese viewers comments on this video I am really curious about their perspective on this 🙂

  8. if i were you i would run out of that place too!! holy shit.. that siren lol…better to visit with friends hahaha

  9. I feel u, i went there alone last year and got really scared, but i think u should continue further, there is like a museum of sort down further!

  10. Creepy story here.
My late grandmother was a midwife and had to make late night trips on a trishaw to help deliver babies.
She told my mum about one occasion, where the trishaw uncle told my grandma this, "if you see anything strange, just look away. Don't stare. Don't acknowledge it."
She saw headless people cycling 🙂
This was sometime after WWII. Around the 1950s.

  11. imbiah has been there for very long , but the Fort is now very much renovated

  12. Hey ghib do u know anything about the world war between Singapore and Japan back then? It is compulsory for all students in Singapore to learn about it but however I heard that in Japan the students there are taught different things and they have never been taught of the war that happened between Singapore and Japan. Many says the Japan government is trying to cover that fact and erase it. Would be great if u could make a video on ur thoughts and opinions on it :)) thank u so much ghib and keep up the good work :))

  13. I went on that nature trail back in 2019. I didn't go all the way to Siloso Pt., I took the route to the Mt. Imbiah Battery and Mega Adventure. Seeing this, I really wished I went all the way. Definitely will next time I visit.
There was a really cute girl working at Mega Adventures, had her hair in pigtails that day. I had asked her where the path leads, and she told me it made a loop. She gave me a really sweet smile when I completed the loop and I saw her again 😍
I got stranded down by the beach that day as there was torrential rainfall. The cable cars were halted for a few hours. So I didnt get to do all the exploring I wanted to do. There'll be another time…

  14. Thanks Ghib, though it was weird to have you introduce Fort Siloso.
This reminds me of how smart the Japanese were, cycling into Singapore from the North.
I am also reminded of how my grandparents went through those hard times, especially when my grandma was forced to go bald while trying to hide from the Japanese soldiers, and carrying an infant who would cry at any time. I was heartbroken when I heard their story. However, these stories taught me how to cherish the comfort and family I am having now.
    Wonderful video, thanks once again!

  17. Limme be frank, speaking Japanese in a supposed haunted BRITISH fort, aka the language of the ENEMY, is gonna attract a whole lot of unwanted attention from said spirits.

  18. Good job. Even Singaporeans might not have explored as much for Fort Siloso. Fort Canning is more popular.

  19. こんな場所知りませんでした。セントーサに行ったら是非訪れてみたいです!日本の教育では教わらない事。トレッキングコースもステキ!

  20. 2 years ago I went into the surrender chambers alone. Real creep fest with all the wax people inside. Felt like they were watching me. And the lighting effects make it even more eerie.

  21. Interesting a Japanese shows us how British defended SG against Japanese .. lol

  22. Thanks for the upload! I havent actually visited Fort Siloso but are all those exhibitions free entry?

  23. I would recommend Bukit Candu (near Vivo/Labrador) and walking towards Labrador Park. Ending at Ford Factory (Bt Timah).

Bt candu is very serene but no less haunting (go there and you’ll know why) but I personally love the surroundings.

  24. Oh and that’s why whenever I’m at Rasa Sentosa Resort for a stay, I will avoid the Hill View rooms. Will opt for seaview or pool view Cz facing the trees at fort Siloso just gives me the creeps.

  25. Pulau Blakang Mati also translated as The Island Back/Behind Death.

Legend goes that the island used to have an outbreak of a disease and many Bugis Settlers perished there.

It is thought to be probably an outbreak of malaria.

  26. There is actually another fort on Sentosa. Fort Serapong. Totally abandoned. It's quite a hike to it though.

  27. Nice video Ghib. Went there a long time ago and your video made me want to visit again .. especially the hiking trails.

  28. SIN CITY NEW ATTRACTION OF HAUNTED FORT OF JULY WAHAHAHAHA WHERE JAPS SLAUGHTERED FCUK BRIT'S SINGAPOOR BACKSIDE DI DI WAHAHAHAHA
