Hostel staff don't usually live or even sleep at the hostel.
How do you teach English to people whose language you can't speak? For example, I can't speak Portuguese, so how would I talk to a class full of Portuguese or Brazilian people?

I went to China in 2007 to be an ESL/EFL teacher with zero training or experience. After a 2 week training class I was thrown into the deep end, otherwise known as the Chinese public school system. That year I taught 20 different classes per week and the average number of students per class was 65. I was intending to only stay abroad for 1 year and then go back home.
However, over the course of that very difficult year I kinda fell in love with everything…with teaching, traveling, cultural exchange, languages, all of it!.
15 years and 41 countries later I'm still teaching and I still love it.
Shameful to be advertising a prejudice programme that benefits from apartheid israels system. Whilst some can go for free, Palestinian citizens cannot even return to their own home
While not free, I have one for dirt cheap…
I once heard of a fellow who travelled to places only after they'd had major tragedies. Like terrorist attacks or national disasters. Because then costs would have plummeted. Flights, buses, hotels…all cheaper and less crowded.
So, if you're morally or ethically flexible…that's a way to travel cheap, though not free.
