January walk in Tobu Zoo in an hour by train from Tokyo station. I started while it was bright, walked around the zoo. When it got dark, I walked back through the same park but illuminated with Christmas lights.
Few big cats found 🐯

    It's a wonderful amusement park.
    But the animals looked pitiful because they were trapped.😂
    The colorful lights in the evening and the atmosphere of the amusement park make me happy.👍

    This zoo is another sad example how we should NOT treat animals. Every single animal compound was far too small and monotonous. The whole setups where not even rudimentary appropriate to the species – just concrete with a little bit of sand, bit of water, unnatural & artificial installations…no grass, rarely trees…This is not a serious attempt to imitate a natural habitat depending on the different needs of these animals. Most animals seemed to be bored, stressed or even depressed and are showing behavioural disorders (e.g. red panda ). Everyone who has observed these animals in wildlife before or has seen some good wildlife documentations can determine, that the zoo animals are not showing their healthy, natural behaviours. How can people not realize that these animals don't want to be there and are feeling bored and sad while they have to endure their miserable existence like this? As humans we should preserve the animals natural habitats where they are really living and not keep them in prisons just for fun and moneymaking.

    Tobu Zoo consumed the park's west side😀 and was the trip's highlight; the roller coasters were a bonus. On March 16th, four white tigers were born! Mother, Carla-chan, and cubs are being cared for behind the scenes while the park streams live video of them at the White Tiger exhibit. Father, Rocky-Kun, guards the area by posing on the large rock for daily visits.
