Ueno Park is a city park with museums and a zoo. The park grounds were originally part of Kaneiji Temple, which used to be one of the city’s largest and wealthiest temples of the ruling Tokugawa clan during the Edo Period.

Shinobazu Pond Bentendo 01:15-01:41

At the southwestern end of the park lies Shinobazu Pond, one of many reminders of Kaneiji Temple. On an island in the middle of the pond stands Bentendo, a temple hall dedicated to the goddess of Benten. This is one of Tokyo’s most popular cherry blossom spots.

Ameyoko Shopping Street 01:41-01:47

Ameyoko (アメ横) is a busy market street along the Yamanote Line tracks between Okachimachi and Ueno stations. FUN FACT: Ame” also stands for “America”, because a lot of American products used to be available when the street was the site of a black market in the years following World War.

It is a large temple in Asakusa. One of Japan’s most popular and famous temples.

Sumida Park 02:10-02:40

This park is a very popular cherry blossom spot that provides some relaxation from the busy streets of Asakusa and great views of Tokyo Sky Tree.

Sakurabashi 02:40-2:50

Sakura-bashi Bridge goes from Imado in Taito Ward to Mukojima in Sumida Ward and is the only pedestrian bridge that connects both sides of Sumida Park along Sumida River.

The Tokyo Skytree (東京スカイツリー) is a television broadcasting tower and landmark of Tokyo. It is the tallest structure in Japan and was the second tallest in the world at the time of its completion.

Sumida Kuritsu Sumida Park 05:23-05:38

Cross the Sakura-bashi bridge and reach the other side of the Sumida Park. It also has impressive views.

Tokyo Station (Marunouchi) 05:38-05:52

Located between the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station, Marunouchi (丸の内) is one of Japan’s most prestigious business districts. During the Edo Period, Marunouchi was located within the outer moats of Edo Castle, housing some of Japan’s most powerful feudal lords. Marunouchi is now home to the headquarters of many of Japan’s most powerful companies, particularly from the financial sector.

The current Imperial Palace (皇居, Kōkyo) is located on the former site of Edo Castle, a large park area surrounded by moats and massive stone walls in the center of Tokyo, a short walk from Tokyo Station. It is the residence of Japan’s Imperial Family.

Shinjuku (新宿) is one of the 23 city wards of Tokyo, but the name refers to just the large entertainment, business, and shopping area around Shinjuku Station. Shinjuku is home to Kabukicho, Japan’s largest red light district.
