D: Maple, We’re going stay in Tokyo for 4 nights.
M: I can’t believe that I’ll be in Tokyo! I’ve only seen Tokyo on TV!
D: We’re going to take a highway bus to Tokyo, ok?
M: Does it take a long time?
D: It takes about 4 hours.
M: Isn’t a bullet train faster?
D: You’re right, but a highway bus is much cheaper. We need to save money so we can stay in nice hotels while we’re there.
M: Tokyo is main, so I don’t care how we get there.
D: Great. We can park our car for free at the bus station near the Hamamatsu highway interchange because we reserved it in advance.
M: That’s great.
D: And we can wait for the bus in this comfortable waiting room.
M: Sounds good.
D: Here comes the bus.
We can put our big luggage underneath. Ok, let’s board the bus.
M: Alright.
M: I like reading on the bus so I brought my favorite book “The Little Prince”.
D: You’re wise to bring a book. Our destination is Shinjuku. Enjoy the ride!
M: I know I will!
D: We’ve arrived in Tokyo, Maple.
M: This is a huge bus terminal. Is it new?
D: Yeah, relatively. It’s called “Basta Shinjuku” and it was completed in 2016.
Now, there are lots of highway buses to various places in Japan departing from here.
M: Great.
D: There are also many people in Tokyo, right?
M: Yeah, it’s exciting!
D: Maple, our hotel is Moxy Tokyo Kinshicho, so we need to take the Sobu line train bound for Chiba from here.
M: Sure!
M: I’ve only taken the JR Tokaido line before.
D: Oh, you have?
When you moved to my place, it was right after the Covid pandemic started, so I couldn’t take you to lots of places back then.
M: Yeah, but we had fun staying at home, playing board games and exercising along to YouTube videos.
D: That’s right.
But now let’s enjoy going out while adhering to infection measures.
M: I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of just looking out the window and enjoying a different view of daily life.
D: I agree with you.
We’e almost at Kinshicho, so make sure you don’t leave anything on the train.
M: Ok.
M: Wow, there are a lot of buildings. And the road is so wide!
D: Kinshicho is one of the main shopping districts in Tokyo. You’ll find several department stores, and many nice restaurants and small interesting shops.
M: How exciting!
D: We have to get out at the south exit.
M: I feel like I could get lost easily. I’m going to stay close to you.
D: Yeah, don’t get lost.
D: It’s only a 5-minute walk to the hotel.
M: Sounds great.
D: That’s our hotel.
M: Oh, it looks really nice.
M: The entrance is very unique! Is this a hotel?
D: Yes, it’s a modern and stylish hotel.
M: Wow, the interior is so cute!
D: Everything is really cool!

M: Wow, how nice!
Some people are working. I think they could come up with wonderful ideas just by being in this great atmosphere.
D: No doubt.
M: The bar is fantastic. I think you can hold a big party here.
D: Oh, that’s exactly right. I saw on Instagram that some events are held here such as language exchanges, DJ nights, and games nights.
M: Great!
D: Also, according to their website, there is a gym in the basement.
M: Cool. Why don’t we work out a bit after dinner?
D: Sure!
D: We got the room key, so let’s go to our room!
M: Sure.
M: Wow, the room is so nice and clean!
D: Look at the view from here. It’s so cool.
D: Let’s take a little rest, and then we can go out to eat.

M: Yeah, I found a Chinese restaurant near here that looks good.

M: According to the information online, this restaurant’s most popular dish is called “Youpo Men”. I saw that flat noodles were used for this dish.
D: I’ve never heard of Youpo Men.
M: Yeah, I don’t think it’s well known in Japan. It’s local food in Xian in China. The noodles are skillfully made without using a knife.
D: Interesting. I love tryin new foods, so I’ll have that.
M: Great. I’ll try that, too.
